NIT Puducherry Placements Details
The Training and Placement Cell (T&P Cell) at the National Institute of Technology, Puducherry, is very crucial in preparing the students towards industry-oriented careers. It is keen on filling the gap between corporate requirements and academic learning. T&P Cell assists the students in B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Sc, and Ph.D programs through guidance, training, internship, and final placement.
The placement cell makes sure that the students get the necessary skills with the help of different pre-placement preparations like mock interviews, aptitude tests, group discussions, technical workshops, seminars, and soft skills development. These initiatives are also supplemented by the guest lectures of industry professionals and individual student counselling. The institute has a clear-cut policy of placement of One Student: One Job.
The 2025 placement season has been very encouraging, and there is a growing interest in companies in the IT, core engineering, consulting, and public sectors. The total percentage of placement of B.Tech was 65.98% where 130 students were placed out of 197 registered. The highest salary package was INR 24 LPA, and the average salary was INR 7.9 LPA.
Students of the M.Tech program also registered a good trend in placement. A total of 8 students out of the 14 registered got employed, and the placement rate was 57.14%. The maximum and average package offered to the M.Tech students was INR 16 LPA and INR 10.9 LPA, respectively.
In M.Sc programmes, 19 students were registered with the placement cell, and 5 of them were offered, and the placement rate stood at 26.3%. The maximum as well as average packages of M.Sc students were INR 6 LPA.

Invitation: Placement brochures and Job Announcement Forms (JAFs) are shared with companies.
Registration: Interested students register for specific job roles.

Selection: Final results are declared on the same day or soon after.
