NIT Pondicherry Admission
NIT Puducherry offers admissions in various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. Admission to B.Tech programs is through JEE Main, followed by centralised counselling by JoSAA/CSAB. For M.Tech, admission is through CCMT based on GATE scores. Similarly, M.Sc admissions are through CCMN based on IIT JAM scores. Ph.D. and M.Tech (by Research) admissions are conducted at the institute level and may include written tests and interviews.
Some of the popular B.Tech programs offered include Computer Science, Mechanical, Civil, EEE, and ECE. For M.Tech, specialisations like Design Engineering, VLSI Design, and Power Electronics are available. M.Tech (by Research) and Ph.D. programs are offered in select departments with a focus on interdisciplinary research.
To apply for the B.Tech program, candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and qualified JEE Main. NIT Puducherry Admission Eligibility Criteria 2025
B.Tech: 10+2 with PCM subjects and JEE Main score. Admission through JoSAA/CSAB.
M.Tech: B.E./B.Tech with 60% (GEN/OBC/EWS) or 55% (SC/ST/PwD) and GATE score. Admission through CCMT or the Institute-level mode.
M.Sc: B.Sc with 60% marks and a valid IIT JAM score. Admission through CCMN.
Ph.D.: Master’s degree with 60% (GEN/OBC/EWS) or 55% (SC/ST/PwD). Candidates must qualify written test and interview. Direct Ph.D. admission is available for exceptional B.Tech graduates.
