Nirma University is located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It is one of the leading private universities of the region. Nirma University was established in the year 2003. Since its establishment, the university has become an institution that offers multidisciplinary education. At present, the university is offering programs in Engineering, Management, Law, Pharmacy, Science, Commerce, Architecture, and Design. Nirma University is UGC recognised, NAAC accredited (A+), and is a Government of Gujarat Centre of Excellence.
The first step towards creating the university was taken back in the year 1994, when famous industrialist Dr. Karsanbhai K Patel founded the Nirma Education and Research Foundation. It was established to encourage students to pursue higher education and to offer them quality education to the youth of India. This establishment was followed by the establishment of Nirma Institute of Management in the year 1996.
The Government of Gujarat, in the year, approved the proposal of NERF to establish Nirma University. The university holds recognition from the University Grants Commission (UGC). It is also accredited with NAAC A+ in the year 2022. The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) as well.
The vision of Nirma University is to shape or mould the future of the students by enabling them to be more effective and socially responsible. Highlighting the mission of the university, which tries to ensure that the students grow and evolve on a 360 degree. The university not only builds and creates ethical and efficient professionals, but ut also emphasises creating good and responsible citizens. The university functions on a student-centric mindset.

Nirma University is steadily evolving as one of the top institutes for holding good and decent placements across many industries such as IT, Consulting, Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI), FMCG, Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, and Analytics. Placement trends for the session of 2026 are expected to continue to be more enhanced than before.
Recent placement records show that the students of B.Tech Computer Science Engineering (CSE) have received many job offers, especially from companies like Wipro and TCS, with an overall placement rate of about 96%. The highest salary offered to a CSE student reached INR 52.25 LPA.
