Admission to the undergraduate and postgraduate programs of NIFT Srinagar, like Bachelor of Design (Fashion Design, Fashion Communication, etc.), Master of Fashion Management and more, is done through marks obtained by a student in NIFT entrance examinations, that consist of Creative Ability Test (CET) and General Admission Test (GAT), which are further followed by the personal interview as well as document verification. Apart from this, the students must complete their schooling (10+2) and graduate from an approved/recognised educational institution to take admission in any program offered at NIFT Srinagar. The application forms for the NIFT Entrance exam will be released in November 2025 (tentative), and the last date for admission is scheduled to be in January 2026 (tentative). The personal interview and document verification process at test centres for admission is expected to start from April 2026 (tentative). Candidates are advised to fill out the application forms before the last date to avoid a late fee.

For admission to undergraduate programs like B.Des in different specialisations, candidates are required to complete their 10+2 from a State/central board.
For admission to postgraduate programs, students must complete their graduation with 50% (45% for reserved categories) marks from a UGC-approved university.
Students having a Diploma of 3 to 4 years with the approval of AICTE can also apply for any UG and PG Program of NIFT Srinagar. Moreover, Artisans as well as the Artisans' ward, can also take admission in NIFT Srinagar through the Artisan Card issued to Self/Father/Mother by the Ministry of Textiles (Govt. of India).
For admission to any UG and PG Program, NIFT Srinagar also conducts the entrance exam consisting of the General Ability Test and the Common Entrance Test. Candidates are also required to secure the minimum marks required in the entrance exam.
The Bachelor of Design is an undergraduate program offered at the National Institute of Fashion Technology Srinagar in multiple specialisations like Fashion Design (FD), Fashion Communication (FC), Fashion & Life Style Accessories (F&LA) and Fashion & Life Style Accessories (F&LA). For admission to the Bachelor of Design, candidates are required to appear for the NIFT Entrance exam and score a valid mark. Candidates are also required to pass Class 12 with a minimum qualifying mark.
The application forms for the entrance examination at NIFT Srinagar will be released in November 2025 (tentative), and the last date for filling the application forms will be January 2026 (tentative). Moreover, NIFT Srinagar also conducts personal interviews and document verification at the test centres of the university after the entrance exam, which is expected to start in April 2026.
Master of Fashion Management (MFM) is a 2-year postgraduate course offered at the National Institute of Fashion Technology Srinagar. Candidates having a bachelor’s degree with 50% of marks (45% of marks for reserved categories) from a recognised university apply for admission to the MFM Program at NIFT Srinagar.
The admission to the MFM program of NIFT Srinagar is based on the marks obtained by an applicant in the NIFT entrance examination, which is further followed by a personal interview and a document verification process.
The application forms for the entrance examination will be available from November 2025 (tentative) on the official website of NIFT Srinagar, and the last date for filling the application forms will be January 2026 (tentative). Students are advised to fill out the application forms before the deadline to avoid late fees.
In addition to the undergraduate and postgraduate programs, NIFT Srinagar also offers a Continuing Education Program (CEP), which is the Designing and Construction of Traditional Kashmiri Women's Wear Garments. The duration of this program is 1 month.
Candidates who have completed their 10+2 from a recognised institution can apply for this program. NIFT Srinagar will release the application forms for admission in the CE Program in September 2025 (tentative), and along with that, candidates need to pay INR 1,416 as the application form fee, which is not refundable.
The application forms for admission to the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs offered at NIFT Srinagar will be released in November 2026 (tentative), and the last date for the submission of application forms will be January 2026. After the deadline of the application forms, a late fee of INR 5000 will be charged by the officials of the University.
