National Institute of Fashion Technology offers undergraduate, postgraduate, continuing, and bridge programs for students who want to study fashion design. The National Institute of Fashion Technology Bangalore admission will start from November 2025, tentatively. Candidates who want to get admission into any of the courses offered by NIFT should fill out the online application form and submit the required documents with it.
NIFT Bangalore offers courses such as BDes in Fashion & Lifestyle accessories, fashion communication, fashion design, knitwear & textile design. Other courses include B.FTech, MFM, MFT, M.Des, and continuing programs, like FCT and FRM, which are one-year courses, and Design, Pattern Making & Design Studio Management for Ethnic Apparel (DPDS), Apparel Merchandising & Manufacturing Technology (AMMT) are six-month courses.
To apply for any of these courses, candidates must fill out the online application, upload the required documents, appear for the NIFT exam, and pay the admission fee once they are selected for the course.

Candidates who want to get admission into any of the courses offered by NIFT Bangalore should fulfil the following eligibility criteria:
Candidates applying for the UG courses should be less than 24 years as on 1st August of the year of admission. The upper age limit will be relaxed by a period of 5 years for SC, ST, and PwD categories.
For the BDes courses, such as Accessory Design, Fashion Communication, Fashion Design, Knitwear Design, Textile Design, and others, candidates should have passed class 12th from a recognised board.
Candidates applying for BDes should have a pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects. Additionally, they should have a 3 or 4-year diploma from AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education after class 10th.
For the B.FTech course, candidates should have passed class 12th from a recognised board with Mathematics. Additionally, they should have a certificate from the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Examination (London, Cambridge, Sri Lanka) at the advanced A level with Mathematics or the International Baccalaureate.
For the postgraduate courses such as M.Des, MFM, and MF.Tech candidates need to have an undergraduate degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
Candidates having an undergraduate diploma of a minimum of three years from NIFT/NID can also apply for the postgraduate course.
Candidates applying for M.F.Tech should have a B.F.Tech/ B.F.Tech (04 years) degree from NIFT or B.E.,/B.Tech from any recognised university.
The Institute provides undergraduate courses such as B.Des in accessory design, fashion communication, knitwear design, leather design, and textile design. Along with this, candidates can also apply for the B.FTech-Apparel Production. Candidates who want to get admission into these courses should have passed class 12th from a recognised board.
If the students have a pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects, or if they have a 3 or 4-year diploma recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education after 10th can also apply for the course. For the B.FTech course, candidates need to have passed class 12th from a recognised University with Mathematics.
B.Design refers to a Bachelor of Design, which is an undergraduate degree that helps students develop creative and technical skills for various specialisations such as fashion, graphic, product, or interior design. Admission to this course is based on the NIFT entrance exam, which includes the Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT). Students who clear both the tests must appear for the Situation Test for the final selection.
The postgraduate courses provided by NIFT Bangalore include Master of Fashion Management, Master of Fashion Technology, and Master of Design. Candidates who want to get admission into these courses should have an undergraduate degree from a recognised university or an undergraduate diploma of three years from NIFT/NID.
However, students applying for M.F.Tech should have a B.F.Tech/B.FTech (04 years)degree from a recognised university. Or candidates can have a B.E./B.Tech degree from any Institute or University.
Master of Fashion Management is a postgraduate degree that is a two-year program, which equips students with management, creative, and technical skills to excel in the global fashion industry.
Students learn more about marketing, buying, merchandising, retail operations, international marketing & trade, and much more. The admission process includes taking an entrance exam like NIFT GAT, and shortlisted candidates will undergo a Personal Interview (PI).
