

CGC University Mohali was established in 2025 by the Chandigarh Educational Society. It was set up through the C.G.C. University Mohali Act 2025, approved by the Government of Punjab. The university is officially recognised as a State (Private) University by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2 (f) of the UGC Act 1956.
Before becoming a university, it was known as Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri. The institute has over 25 years of experience in higher education. CGC University, Mohali offers admissions to a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, Diploma, and PhD programs across fields like Engineering, Business Management, Computer Applications, Pharmacy, Law, and more.
For popular programs such as B.Tech, candidates must have passed 10+2 with at least 60% marks, including Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Selection is based on CGCUET scores, ensuring merit-based entry.

For admission to the B.Tech (CSE): Candidates should have completed their Class 12 from a board recognised by the Central/State Government with Physics and Mathematics as core subjects, along with one subject from Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, IT, Biology, Biotechnology, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, or a vocational subject. They must have at least 60% marks (55% for the reserved category) in these subjects combined.
Or Students from the Vocational stream in the same or related sector are also eligible.
Or those who have completed a 3-year Diploma from a recognised State Board of Technical Education or Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal, with at least 60% marks (55% for reserved category) can apply.
Or Candidates with a 2-year certificate course from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal, with at least 60% marks (55% for reserved category) are also eligible.
To be eligible for M.Tech (CSE), students must have completed B.E. or B.Tech in fields like Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Systems, Information Security, Cyber Security, Computational Engineering, Machine Learning, IoT, or Data Science with at least 55% marks (50% for the reserved category).
Completion of Class 12 with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST category) from a recognised board is required for admission to the BCA program.
For BA LLB (Integrated) admission, students must have passed 10+2 from a recognised board with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST and physically handicapped candidates).
To get admitted to the Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports (B.P.E.S.) program, candidates must have completed 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognised board with at least 50% marks (45% for the reserved categories).
