CGC University Eligibility Criteria 2026
Students applying for their desired course offered by the University should apply for the CGCUET entrance exam. They should ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria of the course they want to apply for. Here’s an overview:
Candidates applying for B.Tech CSE should have passed class 12th with Physics & Maths as core subjects with a minimum of 60% marks for general category students (55% marks for the reserved category). Additionally, they should have studied any one of the subjects such as Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Biology, Informatics Practices, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational subject, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, or Entrepreneurship. Or Students with a D.Voc degree in the same stream, or a 3-year diploma examination from any recognised state board or Sant Longowal Institute with at least 60% marks (55% for the reserved category).
Students who have passed B.E., B.Tech in B.E., or B.E. in CSE, IT, Software, Engineering, Computer Engineering, IoT, Data Science, IT, Cyber Security, with at least 55% (50% for the reserved category) can apply for the M.Tech course.
Candidates who want to apply for the B.Sc Multimedia course should have passed class 12th from a recognised board or council. Or students who have passed their Matriculation exam and completed a three-year diploma from the Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training.
Students who want to get admission into the MBA+ (Finance) course should have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for the reserved category) in any stream from a UGC recognised University.
If a student wants to get admission into MCA, they should have passed BCA or B.Sc. (Computer Science), B.Sc. in IT or CSE, or B.Tech (CSE) or an equivalent degree. Or they could have graduated in B.E., B.Tech, B.Sc, B.Com, BA, B.Voc with Maths at class 12th or Graduation level.
Admission to these courses is done either through the entrance/ Scholarship Test.

CGC University UG Admission 2026

The Bachelor of Technology offered by the CGC University is a four-year course, and students who want to get admission into this course should have completed class 12th with Physics & Maths as compulsory subjects from a recognised board.
Or they should have completed a 3-year Diploma course from any recognised state board of Technical Education or Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal, with at least 60% marks (55% marks for the reserved category).
Furthermore, the fee for the B.Tech Civil Engineering is INR 95,000 per semester. Along with this, the University also offers B.Tech in CSE, CSE (IoT), AI & ML, AI & DS, ECE, ME, Robotics & AI, Cloud Computing, and Blockchain Technology. A wide range of postgraduate courses is offered by the University, which include M.Tech, MBA+, MCA, LLM, MA, M.Pharma, and more. Along with this, the University also offers an MA in Public Health, MSc in Sports Science, and a Master of Physical Education and Sports. All these courses are of two years, and students who are eligible for any of these courses should appear for the CGCUET entrance exam.

CGC University MBA+ Admission 2026
CGC University Mohali offers a two-year MBA+ (earlier known as just MBA) program. It is an Industry Integrated Leadership Program that combines academic learning with industry exposure, leadership mentoring, and real-world business engagement. The syllabus focuses on developing students’ skills such as strategic thinking, leadership skills, and decision-making skills. The program is built on three core principles:
- Knowledge Helps Build Understanding
Through this course, students will learn about the conceptual principles in Management, Finance, Marketing, and Business Strategy.
- Exposure Builds Perspective
With regular interaction with industry people, real business projects, and professional mentorship, students get to learn a lot about the industry and its recent trends.
- Responsibility Builds Judgement
Students learn different skills, such as decision-making or leadership abilities, through simulations, case studies, and real-world scenarios.
Along with these principles, students pursuing this course also get a stipend of INR 25,000 to INR 30,000 during the program. They also receive pre-placement opportunities from the 2nd Semester. Once they complete the course, they get to work in different domains, such as Business Consulting, Financial Management, Business Analytics, Marketing & Brand Strategy, Operations & Supply Chain, and Corporate Strategy & Leadership Roles.
Students who are interested in taking admission into this course should have passed class 12th or its equivalent examination in any stream from any recognised board. In addition to this, students should have scored a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks in the case of the reserved category) in the qualifying board.
Or they should have passed the Matriculation examination with three years in a Diploma in any trade from any State Board of Technical Education/University, or Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology, with at least 50% marks (45% marks in the reserved category) in the qualifying examination from any recognised board. Furthermore, students have to pay INR 1,05,000 as a semester fee for this course.
CGC University Programs in Collaboration with EY & IBM
The University is also collaborating with companies such as EY & IBM and is offering courses such as B.Tech in AI & ML, Quantum Computing, BCA in Data Science, BBA & MBA in Business Analytics. The course duration for these courses ranges from 2 to 4 years, and the fee ranges from INR 65,000 to INR 1,15,000 per semester. Along with this, the University is also offering courses in collaboration with KPMG and OS Sci. For the academic year 2026-27, admission is ongoing.
CGC University Doctoral Programs 2026
Along with offering UG, PG, Diploma, and Programs in collaboration with EY & IBM, the University also offers PhD in Law, Computer Applications, Physical Education, Chemistry, English, ME, ECE, CE, Physics, and more. These courses are offered in both full-time and part-time modes.
Programs such as a PhD in Computer Applications offer students the opportunity to learn concepts such as Python, Java, C, C++, SQL, and more. Whereas, programs such as a PhD in Law, through which students get a better understanding of laws, such as Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Evidence Law, Corporate Law, and other legal concepts.
Additionally, the fee for the PhD program is INR 50,000 per semester for all the specialisations. Candidates who want to get admission into these programs should have completed their Master’s with a minimum of 55% marks (50% marks for the reserved category). Students who have completed their M.Phil with a minimum of 55% marks can also apply for any of the PhD programs.
Eligible candidates must visit the official website and fill out the online application form. After this, candidates have to give a written entrance test, where students with a valid UGC-NET/JRF/CSIR-NET/GATE/CEED will be exempted from giving the test. Students who are shortlisted after passing the written test will be interviewed to check their research aptitude, academic potential, and research domain fit.
