Amity University Admission Process

The admission process at Amity University is mostly done in online mode and aims to reward merit at every academic level. The university, for its 2026 session, normally takes admission through its Admission Microsite as it serves as one one-stop platform where candidates not only submit their applications but also monitor their application status right up to the stage of enrollment. The undergraduate courses, such as B.Tech, BBA, and BCA, witness the commencement of an admission process via the submission of an online application with a fee of INR 1500. The main criterion for selection to its UG courses is through academic merit of Class 12 graduates for some courses, while for some courses, it also considers the scores of the CUET UG conducted by NTA.

For admission into the PG course, like in MBA, M.Tech, or M.A. programme,s theyis  are expected to have a relevant Bachelor's degree with an aggregate minimum of 50 or 60%. The selection for some of the exams is mostly done through competitive entrance examinations like for example, MBA candidates are assessed on the basis of CAT, MAT, GMA,T etc. This is followed by a Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) round. Similarly courses like M.Tech or other technical courses, the candidates are required to have a GATE score. The eligibility criteria for PhD programmes are that the students would have a PG degree in the relevant subject in which they are applying. They are also required to have a UGC NET o UGC CSIR score for some of the programmes.

Amity University UG Courses Admission Process

Step 1 - Application Phase

  • Registration: Go to https://portal.amity.edu/NewOnlineForm/Candidate/SignUp and create an account by providing the candidate's name, mobile number, and email.

  • Filling in the Form: The candidate has to fill up the preferred campus (Noida) and preferred UG Programmes (B.Tech or BBA or B.Com, etc.).

  • Documentation: Please provide scanned copies of original documents of:

    • Mark sheet of Class X (compulsory).

    • Class XII Mark sheet (if results are declared; otherwise, appearing status).

    • Recent passport-size photograph.

    • Application Fee: Pay INR 1,500 via Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

Step 2 - Eligibility and Selection Criteria

According to the course, Amity follows a multi-stage selection depending on:

  • Direct Admission: All the students who are meritorious, usually with at least 80% marks in Class XII (from recognized boards), get direct admission in the university, skipping the selection process.

  • National Entrance Examinations:

    • CUET UG: Amity, Noida is a participating university in CUET, and as such, candidates have to select Amity and the relevant subject mapping while registering for CUET.

    • Screening: If the candidates do not come under the direct admission category, then their application will be screened for an interview or internal test.

Step 3 - The Assessment Stage

Once the application is processed (usually within 3–5 working days), students will be notified via the Microsite about the selection process:

  • Video Interview: Instead of travelling to the campus, most students are asked to record a video response to specific questions provided on the portal.

  • Creative Tests: For programs like Fine Arts, Design, or Architecture, candidates may need to submit a portfolio or appear for a creative drawing test.

Step 4 - Offer Letter and Fee Payment

  • Tracking Status: Regularly log in to the Admission Microsite to get all updates regarding selection or "Conditional Offers" (for those whose 12th results are pending) are posted here.

  • Admission Letter: Once a student is shortlisted, they can download their admission letter from the portal. The admission letter will give information regarding the semester fee and payment deadline.

Securing a seat in this program entails paying the tuition fee for the first semester, as well as a security fee that is refundable and related to studies.

In section 2, the testing of awareness of subject matter that is connected to their field of specialization will be based on the NCERT syllabus class 12 in 50 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes for each subject. In section 3, the area of general awareness or awareness of current events with a total of 60 minutes is involved. Candidates will receive +5 marks for each correct answer, a deduction of -1 mark for an incorrect answer, and a score of 0 marks for questions not attempted. List of CUET UG Degree Programmes, Required Subjects & Eligibility Criteria for Amity University

Amity University provides a variety of undergraduate courses, each with different specific CUET UG requirements and qualification standards within those areas of study. The technical courses like B.Tech or B. Arch usually requires candidates to have taken English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. They are also required to have achieved at least a 60% average for all three subjects. Similarly, candidates seeking admission to B.Sc. and B.Pharma programmes generally need to pass English, as well as one of the following from Biology or Chemistry subjects. The minimum percentage for qualification in these two subjects is around 50%-60% when combined with the biological sciences.

The B.A. and BBA degree programs offer flexible admission requirements. Applicants need to submit an English score and choose a second subject, usually Economics or Political Science, along with a General Test. Most B.A. language programs only require proof of passing the Class 12 English exam. However, B.Com (Hons) and Integrated MBA applicants must have higher scores, typically achieving an average of 70% or more. For vocational and creative degrees like BFA and B.Des, the focus is on passing the English exam and showing skill in Fine Arts.

  • Application fee: INR INR 1500 (non-refundable).

  • Applicants select their desired PG programme and campus while filling out the form.

Step 2- Eligibility Criteria

Each PG programme has specific requirements:

  • MBA/PGDM: Graduation with minimum 50% marks, sometimes CAT/MAT/XAT/GMAT scores.

  • M.Tech/MCA: Relevant bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, or computer science.

  • MA/M.Sc.: Graduation in the relevant discipline.

  • Candidates must check programme-specific eligibility before applying.

Step 3- Document Submission

Required documents include:

  • Academic transcripts (10th, 12th, Graduation mark sheets).

  • ID proof (Aadhar card, Passport, etc.)

  • Passport-size photographs.

  • Applications are processed within a few days.

Step 4- Entrance Exam or Direct Admission

  • Some PG programmes require an Amity entrance test (usually in August).

  • For MBA, scores from national exams (CAT/MAT/XAT/GMAT) may be accepted.

  • Certain programmes allow direct admission based on merit (graduation marks).

  • Shortlisted candidates may be called for Group Discussion (GD) or Personal Interview (PI).

Step 5- Selection Process

Admission is based on

  • Entrance exam scores (if applicable).

  • GD/PI performance.

  • Academic record.

Selected candidates receive an offer letter via email or the admission portal.

Step 6- Fee Payment & Enrollment

  • Candidates must pay the first semester fee within the deadline mentioned in the offer letter.

  • After fee payment, enrollment is confirmed.

Step 7-  Orientation & Commencement of Classes

  • Students attend an orientation programme introducing faculty, curriculum, and campus facilities.

  • PG classes typically begin in August/September.

Amity University PhD Admission Process

Step 1- Check Eligibility

Before applying, candidates should ensure that they meet the minimum academic requirements:

  • Master’s Degree: Minimum of 55% aggregate marks (or equivalent CGPA) in the relevant field.

  • Bachelor’s Degree: For some technical programs, a 4-year Bachelor’s degree with high merit (usually 75%+) may be considered for direct PhD entry.

  • Professional Experience: If applying for Part-Time PhD, they must provide a "No Objection Certificate" (NOC) from their current employer.

Step 2- Online Application

The application is entirely online via the https://amity.edu/phd/registration.aspx

  • Registration: Create a profile to receive the Form Number and Password.

  • Documents Required:

    • Scanned passport-size photograph.

    • Class X mark sheet (for age proof).

    • Post-Graduation mark sheets (all semesters).

    • Preliminary Research Idea: A brief write-up (approx. 1,000 words) outlining your proposed research area.

  • Application Fee: Approximately INR 1,500, payable via credit/debit card or net banking.

Step 3- The Selection Process (PET & Interview)

  • Interested candidates are required to give the Amity University PhD. Entrance Test (PET). The PET is a computer-based or written test consisting of two sections:

    • Section 1 (General): Research Methodology, Logical Reasoning, English, and Quantitative Aptitude.

    • Section 2 (Subject Specific): Advanced questions related to your Master's level specialisation.

  • Exemption: Candidates who have cleared UGC-NET / CSIR-NET / GATE / ICAR / GPAT or hold an M.Phil. degree are typically exempt from the PET and proceed directly to the interview.

  • Personal Interview (PI)

Qualified candidates (or those exempt from PET) appear before the Faculty Research Committee (FRC). You will be evaluated on:

  • Your grasp of the subject matter.

  • The feasibility and "brilliance" of your proposed research idea.

  • Your academic and professional background.

Step 4- Admission Offer and Registration
