In a place where students are not just accepted but truly valued, you can feel a special sense of warmth and pride in their success. The CU UP Scholars' Summit 2026 - Recognising Merit, Excellence & Achievement organized by Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh Campus, was based on the same. The entire event lasted for two days, and the environment in the university campus was different in that it became the occasion of recognizing people for their accomplishments.
It is worth noting that many students had taken part in the CUCET examination and succeeded greatly in doing so; many of them have got high scholarship benefits while a few others got 100% tuition fee waivers. For most families, this development was very encouraging, relieving them from stress to finance education expenses.
Over 2000 students attended the summit. All of them came from northern Indian states such as Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand. Students did not only gather for the event's sake but also due to being invited to the university for their recognition. Each student that came to the university had his/her story about efforts, examinations, preparations for them, and other important factors.
A Major Scholarship Commitment
Amongst some other key highlights of the summit, perhaps one of the most prominent highlights was the introduction of the INR 50 crore scholarship program introduced by Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh for the academic year 2026-27. This commitment of theirs was not merely mentioned or highlighted in some of their promotional content or documents. Rather, the commitment proved its true worth during the event itself.
Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh honored a large number of students in person during the summit. They invited each and every recipient of the scholarship program one by one onto the stage and appreciated their efforts. Just on the first day itself, more than 1000 students studying at Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh received honors due to their successful performance.
The special guest on the occasion of the first day was none other than the Honorable Asim Arun who happens to be a retired IPS officer as well as a minister responsible for Social Welfare and SC/ST Welfare in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
A total of more than 2000+ scholarship students were honored on this occasion. The walk down from the stage was truly motivational for all of them.
A Gathering Full of Important Voices
Day 4 saw an assembly of various key leaders from educational, political, and business worlds. They were individuals whose knowledge would help students start their career journey.
The chief guest for the fourth day was Yogendra Upadhyay, and he talked about education and nation-building. Other key leaders accompanying him included representatives from Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh such as
Satnam Singh Sandhu
Prof. (Dr.) Vinith Kumar Nair, Vice-Chancellor, Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh
Prof. (Dr.) T.P. Singh, Pro Vice-Chancellor
Alongside them there were also well-known industry professionals and public figures who interacted with students and shared real-world advice.
Some of the notable names included:
Aman Gupta, entrepreneur and startup leader
Dr. Shailesh Kumar
Aswathy Venugopal
Arpit Trivedi
Aparajita
Radhika Pant
Hardeep Singh Bhamrah
Aparshakti Khurana
Asees Kaur
These speakers did not just give formal speeches. They shared real experiences from their careers, including challenges, mistakes, and lessons learned. For students, this kind of exposure is very important because it connects classroom learning with real life.
What Industry Experts Told Students
In various sessions, particularly on Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital systems, and technology in general, there was one clear thing: a degree will be insufficient.
As the speakers noted, a degree is the beginning, an access point. But what comes after is entirely dependent upon the development of students' skills. In short, education provides access, but skills guarantee success.
AI was one of the most important topics at the conference. Specialists pointed out that within the next five years, every sector will be transformed by artificial intelligence, from medicine to finance, from education to production.
Students were told that there is no time to waste and start acquiring necessary skills. These skills included, among others, programming, data processing, critical thinking, etc. Students who begin their preparation early will enjoy significant advantages in the future job market. All in all, the future is here; it is not something that lies far ahead.
Message from Minister Yogendra Upadhyay
In his address, Yogendra Upadhyay thanked the university for its contributions in recognizing and nurturing talents. He pointed out that Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh is not just a university where students attend classes. It is an institution that recognizes talent and nurtures it so that students become responsible citizens of their respective nations.
Yogendra Upadhyay observed many innovative projects of students during his visit. One of those inventions included the generation of energy through footsteps. He claimed that this clearly indicates that students think outside the box and work hard to solve practical issues. He made a linkage between patriotism and education in his address. He argued that patriotism not only means protecting the boundaries of our nation. Patriotism includes knowledge and innovations that are useful for building up our nation and its people. Yogendra Upadhyay also observed that UP will become an important center of higher education institutions in the future.
Message from the Chancellor
Satnam Singh Sandhu talked about the scholarship program and its objectives.
Scholarships, according to him, are not only monetary aids. It is also an assurance that there should not be any worthy candidate who leaves his studies because of monetary issues.
Higher education for many of them becomes quite tough as a result of financial difficulties. Scholarships help lessen that financial difficulty so that they can completely concentrate on studies.
Moreover, he spoke about today’s youth generation. According to him, students belonging to the Gen Z generation are very well-connected with the world around them and have knowledge of modern-day technology such as AI. In the coming years, technology will evolve to the extent where individuals will be capable of completing tasks that were previously completed by organizations. In addition to it, he introduced Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh as India’s first AI-enabled multidisciplinary university.
What This Event Really Showed
The Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh has been around for less than a year, but its efforts were reflected in the CU UP Scholars' Summit 2026. This event was not just another gathering of individuals delivering speeches; this was an occasion of acknowledging sincere efforts of students and rewarding them.
Over 2000 students from various states such as Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand have witnessed their success stories being celebrated. To a large number of students, this event was much more than a ceremony. This event acted as evidence that their dedication towards exam preparations such as the CUCET would lead them somewhere.
Final Message for Students
The main idea from the entire summit can be understood in a simple way:
Hard work is important, but opportunity is also important.
A degree opens the door, but skills help you walk through it.
The future belongs to those who start preparing early.
Education is not just for getting a job, but for building the nation.
The CU UP Scholars’ Summit 2026 was, in the end, a message of encouragement. It told students that they are not just future job seekers—they are future builders of society.
