PU-CET 2025: The Panjab University Common Entrance Test (PU CET) is conducted for admissions to various UG and PG courses, with the UG exam scheduled for 12 May 2025, and the PG exam on 17-19 June 2025. The purpose of the PU CET exam is to select the eligible students for admission to courses such as B.Sc., B.Pharmacy, and other fields like Commerce, Law, Management, etc.

The application process for the PU-CET UG 2025 Exam started on 21 March 2025, and the last date to submit the application form is 24 April 2025. Meanwhile, for PG courses, the application window was available from 23 April to 2 June 2025.

Eligibility

  • No upper age limit for the PU CET exam. 
  • Must be an Indian citizen.

PU-CET 2025 Exam

The PU CET is a university-level entrance exam conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh, for admission to various undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs, including Engineering, Law, Pharmacy, and Management. The PU CET UG provides candidates admission to UG programs such as B.Sc, B.Pharmacy at Panjab University and its affiliated colleges. On the other hand, the PU CET pg Exam helps graduate candidates in securing admission to PG courses like LLM, MCA, MA, Mtech, MBA, etc. 

Candidates must check the eligibility criteria for their respective courses before filling out the application form. Besides, the PU-CET exam 2025 will be conducted on 11 May 2025 (UG) and 17-19 June 2025 (PG)  in multiple shifts and an offline mode. The duration for the PU-CET exam depends on the course selected by the candidate. 

Additionally, the syllabus for the PU CET UG exam consists of 4 papers (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology), each with 60 multiple-choice questions, 70 70-minute duration, and 2 marks per correct answer with negative marking.

PU-CET 2025 Exam Eligibility Criteria

The following is the eligibility criterion that candidates must meet to be eligible for the PU-CET Exam 2025:

PU-CET UG 2025 Eligibility

  • Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognized board with at least 50% marks. A 5% relaxation in the eligibility marks is available for SC/ST/BC/PwD candidates. 

  • Candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and either Mathematics or Biology/Biotechnology. English is also a required subject.

  • Students appearing in the 10+2 examination are also eligible to apply. 

PU-CET PG 2025 Eligibility

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in the relevant field.

  • The minimum marks required will vary depending on the specific PG course.

  • Students appearing in their final year of the Bachelor's degree program are also eligible to apply.

  • For courses like LL.M., specific requirements may include an LL.B. degree with a minimum percentage of marks.

PU-CET Exam 2025 Application Form

The Panjab University, Chandigarh, is the conducting authority of the PU-CET Exam, which releases the PU-CET Exam application form on its official website. The registration process for the PU-CET UG Exam began on 21 March 2025 on the PU official website. Aspirants can fill the application form online till 24 April, with the last date to submit the application fee being 26 April 2025. Meanwhile, the application process for PU CET PG started from 23 April and continued till 2 June 2025. The PU CET UG and PG exams were officially scheduled to be held on 12 May 2025 and 17-19 June 2025, respectively.

PU-CET Exam Pattern 2025 

The PU CET UG 2025 exam pattern involves four offline papers, each with 60 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) worth 2 marks each, totaling 120 marks per paper, and a duration of 70 minutes. However, for the PU-CET PG exam, the exam duration is 1 hour 30 minutes in which the candidate needs to attempt 75 MCQs, each carrying one mark, and a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

Candidates must note that the above-mentioned exam pattern is defined for particular papers, and there are a total of 4 papers in the PU-CET UG exam. Therefore, the total questions will be 240 MCQs across all papers, the total marks will be 480, which candidates have to complete in 4 hours and 40 minutes.

PU-CET Marking Scheme 2025 

In the PU-CET 2025 exam, candidates will get +2 marks for each correct answer and -0.25 for each incorrect answer. Whereas, for the PU-CET PG Exam, each correct question will be given 1 mark.

PU-CET 2025 Admit Card

The PU-CET (UG) 2025 admit card was available for download from the Panjab University website from 7 May 2025, and for the PU-CET PG, it was published on 9 June 2025. Applicants can visit the official website to access and download their admit card using their login ID and password. 

Apart from this, Candidates should download and print their admit cards well in advance of the exam date. They should also carry a valid photo ID to the exam hall. 

PU-CET 2025 Exam Results

The PU-CET (UG & PG) 2025 results, the UG exam was announced on 22 May 2025, while the PG exam results will be declared on 14 July 2025. Candidates can check their results on the official website of Panjab University by logging in with their roll number and chosen subjects.

The PU-CET results will include the candidate’s scorecard, which will detail their performance in the entrance test, and potentially their rank/category rank for admission to UG/PG programs at Panjab University and its affiliated colleges.  After the results are declared, eligible candidates can apply for admission at https://puchd.ac.in/

PU-CET 2025 Cutoff

The candidate from the general category needs a qualifying cutoff of 15% of the total marks, while SC/ST/PWD candidates need 10%. However, for the PG courses, the cutoff varies by program, with some, like MA English and History, requiring 35% of total marks. The following is the expected cutoff range for the PU-CET 2025:
