The NIT MCA Common Entrance Test, or NIMCET, is a national-level exam organised by the National Institutes of Technology (NITS) for students who want to be admitted into the MCA program. NITS has its campuses in Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Trichy (Tiruchirappalli), Warangal, and Patna. The application process started on 17 April 2025 and the last date for the application form was 16 May 2025.

The university released the admit cards on the official website on 3 June 2025, which were available on the website till the exam date. The NIMCET exam was conducted on 8 June 2025. The provisional answer key was released on the NIMCET exam's website through which students can check their marks and if they find any discrepancy in the provisional answer key, then they need to report it to the conducting body. The conducting body then reviewed the objections, and a new and final answer key was released.

National Institutes of Technology (NITS) announced the result on 27 June 2025, on the official website of the NIMCET, which was in the form of a merit list. Candidates who have qualified for this exam will be able to participate in the NIMCET 2025 counselling process. Candidates can visit the official NIMCET website for further information.

The National Institute of Technology MCA Common Entrance Test is also known as NIMCET. It is a national-level entrance exam organized by the NITS. NIMCET is conducted for students who want to be admitted into the MCA (Master of Computer Applications) course.

NIMCET Exam 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) has given the eligibility rules for the NIMCET exam 2025. Candidates should check these details before filling out the application form: Applicants must be Indian citizens and need to have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or a 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale in a full-time, three-year bachelor's degree program (B.Sc., BCA, or BIT) from a recognized university, with Mathematics or Statistics as a compulsory subject.

The NIMCET 2025 application form-filling process started from 17 April 2025 via the official website. The last date for submission of the application form was 16 May 2025, and the NIMCET 2025 admit card was published online on 3 June 2025, till the exam date. Candidates can download their admit cards on the official website. 

The admit card contains important information such as the exam date, timings, venue address, and guidelines.  Candidates who want to appear for the NIMCET 2025 test must check out the form-filling process. The scores obtained in the entrance examination were released through the official website of NITS. Passed candidates will be able to join the counselling process of NIMCET 2025.

NIMCET Exam Pattern 2025

NIMCET exam is divided into four parts: Mathematics, Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness, and General English, which consists total 120 multiple-choice questions are asked in the NIMCET exam. 2 hours are given to solve 120 questions, and the exam will be conducted in an online mode.

NIMCET Exam 2025 Marking Scheme: 

The marking scheme is different for all 4 parts, and the information about the marking scheme of the NIMCET exam is given below.

Marking Scheme

Mathematics:  

Every correct answer will be awarded 12 marks

For every wrong answer, 3 marks will be deducted

Analytical Ability & Reasoning:

For every correct answer, 6 marks will be awarded

1.5 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Computer Awareness:

Every correct answer will be given 6 marks

1.5 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

General English:

For every correct answer, 4 marks will be awarded

1.5 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

The NIMCET  Syllabus consists of four subjects: Mathematics, Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning, Computer Awareness, and General English, which releases the syllabus for the exam on their official website. Below is a table composed of subjects and their key topics.

Computer Awareness 

Computer basics, organisation, CPU, input/output devices, memory, backup devices, data representation, binary arithmetic, Boolean algebra, and related concepts. 

General English

Comprehension, vocabulary, basic grammar, word power, synonyms and antonyms, and technical writing. 

NIMCET Exam 2025 Admit Card

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) released the NIMCET hall ticket on its official website. Students who have completed their registration can download the admit card from the official website. The admit cards were available to download from 3 June 2025 to 8 June 2025. Candidates must carry two copies of the admit card with a valid ID proof on the examination day.

NIMCET Exam 2025 Result

The NIMCET exam result was announced after the completion of the exam on 27 June 2025. Candidates can check their NIMCET 2025 results on the official website using their login credentials, and they must know that the NIMCET 2025 result will be released in the form of a merit list. NIMCET 2025 qualified candidates will be able to join the counselling process of NIMCET 2025. 

The NIMCET 2025 cutoff depends on the institute and your category. If a candidate belongs to the General or OBC category, they usually need at least 60% marks or a 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale). For SC, ST, or PWD candidates, the minimum is 55% marks or a 6.0 CGPA.
