NEST Exam 2026 Application Form

The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2026 exam is a computer-based examination conducted by the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, and the University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM–DAE CEBS), Mumbai. 

Students had applied to the official website between 05 January 2026 and 08 April 2026. Only correct and eligible applications were selected and accepted by the authority. This included correct personal information along with academic details, with uploading documents according to specifications and the application fee before the deadline.

Step 1: Register Online: Interested candidates must visit the official website https://www.nestexam.in/ and click on New Registration and register themselves by entering their contact number and a valid email address, class 10 roll number, and mobile number. After completing the registration candidate will get an SMS containing login details and password.

Step 2: Fill Application: After completing the registration process, candidates can start filling the application form with required personal details like address, parents' name, educational qualification, etc.

Step 3: Upload Documents: Candidates need to upload all the required documents, including a passport-sized photograph (not a selfie), a scanned copy of their signature, a Caste certificate (if applicable), a Class 10th Marksheet, and a Graduation Marksheet, etc. All files must be in the correct format/size.

Step 5: Pay Fee: After filling out the application form candidate needs to pay the application fee of INR 1400 for the male candidates of the General/OBC categories and INR 700 for SC/ST/Divyangjan categories and all female candidates. 

Step 6: Submit Form: Review everything twice before final submission, because no changes are allowed after submission. Take a printout for future reference.

Here are the documents typically required for the NEST 2026 application process:

Academic Certificates

• Class 10 marksheet. 

• Class 12 marksheet. 

• Graduation certificates.

Personal Information:

• Valid email ID and mobile number. 

• Scanned images of your photograph and signature in the specified format.

Payment Details: Debit/credit card or other online payment details for the application fee.

Certificates and Address proof

• Caste certificate (if applicable). 

• Adhaar Card. 

• PWD Certificate 

NEST 2026 Exam Application Fee 

The application fees for the exam differ based on the categories and gender. For male candidates (GEN/OBC), the application fee is INR 1400, while for women and SC/ST/Divyangjan categories, the application fee is INR 700. 

Nest Exam Application Correction Window 2026

Candidates were able to edit their application form between 18 - 19 April 2026. To correct specific details like marksheet, DOB, address, etc candidate needs to log in to the NEST 2026 official website and then visit the application document to correct the details. Not all information was able to be corrected, but some of it could be edited and corrected within a specific time.
