  • Get to know the latest MHT CET syllabus (20% from Class 11, 80% from Class 12) and exam structure before starting preparation.

  • Make a daily timetable with dedicated slots for each subject, revision, and breaks.

  • Solve MHT CET previous year question papers and take online/offline mock tests to get familiar with the exam pattern and improve speed.

  • Allocate time for each section as per the group (PCM/PCB). For PCM, spend more time on Mathematics, and for PCB, maintain a steady pace in Biology due to a higher number of questions.

  • Focus on the basics in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.

  • Practice quick calculation techniques for Mathematics and shortcut methods for recalling facts in Biology and Chemistry.

  • Keep revising important formulas, reactions, and diagrams. Make summary notes for last-minute revision.

  • There is no negative marking, so attempt every question, even if unsure.

  • Don’t just read 24*7. Instead, include short physical activities and maintain a balanced routine to keep your mind fresh.

Frequently Asked Questions

MHT CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) is a state-level entrance examination conducted for admissions to undergraduate engineering courses (B.E./B.).Tech), pharmacy (B.Pharm/Pharm.D) and agriculture related programs. It will be in the form of a test that is carried out online (computer-based) and will have multiple-choice questions based on Class 11 and 12 syllabus.

The applicants may get up to two attempts in a year and the best score is considered. This however depends on the formal announcement of the same year.

There is no negative marking in the MHT CET exam and any wrong answers will not subtract any points. Questions in mathematics are two mark questions whereas questions in Physics, Chemistry and Biology are one mark questions.

MHT CET is not all about engineering but admission to pharmacy and agriculture related courses is also done through it. Students either have PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) used in engineering or PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) used in the pharmacy career and related studies.

The syllabus has been developed on the Maharashtra State Board curriculum with a weightage of about 20 percent as per Class 11 and 80 percent as per Class 12. The official syllabus can be found on the MHT CET Official Website.
