IMU-CET 2025: The IMU-CET 2025 Exam took place on 24 May 2025 in a computer-based test mode.  Candidates had to complete the IMU CET 2025 registration before the last date, which was 6 May 2025. The IMU-CET  is a national-level entrance examination which means it’s conducted across various test centers in the country and is scheduled for 24 May 2025. The application process for the IMU-CET Exam 2025 started on 7 March 2025. Interested candidates could easily visit the official website of IMU to apply for the IMU-CET Exam before the last date of application, i.e., 6 May 2025. 

Candidates should check the eligibility criteria before filling out the application form to avoid any cancellation or application rejections. The application process includes filling out personal and academic details and uploading necessary documents. Later, the candidates who had completed the registration process successfully were be able to download their admit card from the official website.

The IMU is the conducting authority that annually conducts the IMUCET Exam for admission to its UG and PG programs, including courses like marine engineering, naval architecture, shipbuilding, nautical science and ocean engineering at diploma. IMU also provides management courses in maritime logistics. The IMU has a total of 6 campuses including Navi Mumbai, Mumbai Port, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, Chennai, and Kochi. Admission to different courses at IMU and its associated colleges is done through IMU CET only. The IMU has officially scheduled the exam date for IMUCET 2025 on 24 May 2025. Here are some important dates to remember:

The applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply and take the IMU-CET Exam 2025:

Education Qualification: 

  • Candidates must have passed their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board, with a minimum aggregate of 60% in PCM and 50% marks in English. On the other hand, for PG programs, a Bachelor's degree with 50% aggregate and 50% in English is required. 

  • Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) must be mandatory subjects in the 10+2 examination. 

Relaxation:

  • A relaxation of 5% in English marks for candidates who are natives of the Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and belong to their Scheduled Tribes.

Other Requirements:

  • Candidates who want to take admission into the Nautical Science Programme must be medically fit as per the guidelines of the Director General of Shipping. For more details, candidates can refer to the website of the Directorate General of Shipping.  

  • There shall be no evidence of any morbid condition of either eye, and candidates must possess good binocular vision. 

  • Normal color vision shall be tested by the Ishihara Test Chart. Distance Vision unaided 1.0*(6/6) in better eye and 0.67*(6/9) in another eye. 

Additional: Morbidity condition refers to any eye disease or condition, whether it causes visual impairment or not, and includes conditions like cataracts, refractive errors, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. 

The IMU-CET 2025 application form was released on 7 March 2025 by the conducting body of CET, IMU, on the official website. The last date to submit the application was 6 May 2025. Therefore, candidates who were interested in pursuing UG or PG courses in maritime studies at the Indian Maritime University and its affiliated institutions could visit the website at https://imu.cbexams.com. 

Candidates had to complete online registration, fill out the application form with basic, personal, and qualification details, upload scanned documents (photo, signature, marksheets, etc.), and make the online payment for the application registration fee to apply for the IMU-CET 2025. 

Additionally, in case any candidate wants to request his/her application cancellation, they can email info@imucet.com and request a refund within five days of registration, with no processing fees. However, there are no refunds allowed for cancellations after 10 days.

  • Total Marks: The total marks for the IMU-CET are 200 for UG, while the marks for the IMU-CET PG are 120.

The Admit Card for the IMU CET 2025 Exam was available in May 2025. Candidates could download it from the official website using their login credentials. After the candidate has successfully downloaded the admit card, they should then carefully verify all the details mentioned on it. If they find any discrepancies then they must contact the exam authorities as soon as possible.

The IMU CET admit card included details such as the exam date, time, venue, and other important guidelines to be taken care of on the exam day. It works as proof of registration and eligibility to take the exam. No candidate is allowed to enter the exam hall without their IMU CET admit card.

Along with the admit card, candidates must also had to carry a valid photo ID proof to the exam center on the exam day, which is scheduled to be conducted on 24 May 2025.

The IMU-CET 2025 exam results were declared by June 2025 for the exam being conducted on 24 May 2025 for both UG and PG. Candidates can download their results/scoreboard from the official website at  imu.edu.in.

After the IMU-CET 2025 exam results are announced, qualified candidates will participate in the counseling process. The counselling process includes the registration process, choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting to the allotted institute. It also requires the candidates to pay a non-refundable fee of INR 10,000 for registration and INR 30,000 to confirm the seat. 

In addition, the candidates must note that the Rank Certificate download facility will be available until the admission process is active, and no requests for Rank Certificates will be entertained later. 

The official cutoff score for the IMU-CET Exam 2025 will be released after the examination takes place on 24 May 2025, and results will be declared by June 2025. The anticipated marks for qualifying at IMU CET 2025 under opening ranks of B. Tech Marine engineering are UR - 178, SC - 122, and ST- 118, whereas closing ranks are UR - 146, SC - 89, and ST- 82, based on last year's trends. However, the cutoff marks for the IMU-CET Exam vary by college, course, and candidate’s category.
