Students who want to practice medicine in India but have graduated from foreign medical universities must take the FMGE to get a license. The exam is held by the National Board of Examinations in June and December. The application process will start in the 2nd week of March 2026, and the last date to apply will be the 1st week of April 2026. 

Applicants can visit the official website to fill out the application form by registering with their login credentials and uploading the required documents at the time of application to complete the process. Students who have an MBBS-equivalent qualification from a recognised foreign institution must submit a confirmation letter from the Indian Embassy to register, and Candidates need to pay a non-refundable fee of INR 7080 to complete their registration.

Step-by-step guide to fill the FMGE Application form 2026

Step 1: Visit the official National Board of Examinations (NBE) website: www.natboard.edu.in. 

Step 2: Register by providing details such as name, date of birth, gender, nationality, email, and phone number.

Step 3: Log in to the portal using your credentials and access the FMGE application form 

Step 4: Fill in personal, academic, and contact details, along with identification information, and choose your preferred test centre.

Step 5: Upload scanned copies of the required documents, including your passport-sized photograph, signature, and relevant certificates, in the prescribed format and size.

Step 6: After this, pay the application fee through a debit card, credit card, UPI or net banking.

Step 7: Submit the application form after reviewing all the details mentioned. 

Step 8: Save and print the application form for future use.

Here is the fee structure for the December registration of the FMGE 2026 exam: 

Students must note that the application forms cannot be withdrawn after submission. The fee is non-refundable and cannot be carried forward or adjusted for future use under any circumstances. Requests for refunds or adjustments will not be accepted.

FMGE 2026 Documents Required

Educational Qualifications:

• Class 10th and 12th passing mark sheets 

• MBBS degree certificate (certified by the Indian Embassy, if applicable) 

• Transcript of medical education 

• Internship completion certificate (if applicable) 

• Equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (for MBBS completed abroad)

Identity and Address Proof:

• Passport copy 

• Government ID proof (Aadhaar/Voter/PAN) 

• Address proof (PAN card, Voter ID, Passport, etc.)

•  Date of birth certificate (matriculation certificate)

Other Documents:

• Recent passport-size photographs 

• Scanned signature and thumb impression  

• Eligibility certificate issued by the National Medical Commission (NMC), if applicable 

• Previous fail certificates (if applicable) 

• Family Income Proof

For MBBS Completed Abroad: 

• Provisional Pass Certificate attested by the Indian Embassy/apostilled 

• Proof of citizenship (valid passport, OCI card, etc.)

FMGE 2026 Application Correction window 

The FMGE 2026 correction window is for students who made mistakes while filling out their application form. During this time, candidates can fix errors, and the correction window will be available tentatively from the 1st week of April to the 1st week of May 2026 on the official NBE website. However, students should remember that not all details in the application form can be changed or corrected.

All fields in the application form can be edited except for the following :  

• Name of the Candidate 

• Email ID 

• Mobile number 

• Nationality 

• Test City

FMGE 2026 Correction Window Process

Given below is the process to access the FMGE correction window: 

Step 1: Students must visit the official website of NBE,  www.natboard.edu.in.

Step 2: Candidates must then log in to their account using their application number and password.

Step 3: After this, click on the "Correct Application Form" button or link to access the correction window.

Step 4: Carefully review the application form and make the necessary changes. 

Step 5: Review the form thoroughly and click on the "Submit" button to finalize your changes. 

Step 6: Students are advised to take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.
