CSIR - UGC NET 2025 Application Form

As per the notification released by the NTA, the application process for the CSIR-UGC NET 2025 exam opens from 25 September 2025 and proceeds till the last date of 27 October 2025. It is the first step to be a part of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor positions, and getting admission to Ph.D. programs. The exam is scheduled for 18 December 2025 in two shifts, morning and afternoon. 

Interested candidates can fill out the online application form by visiting the NTA official website https://csirnet.nta.nic.in/ and pay the applicable charge varies by category. The last date of application fee submission is 28 October 2025. The entire application process is in online mode, including the form fill-up, document uploading, fee submission, etc. The incomplete application will be rejected without prior notification. 

The NTA will also open a two-day application correction window that will be from 30 October 2025 to 1 November 2025. If any candidates want to make a change in their application form can make an edit in this specific period. 

How to Fill CSIR - UGC NET 2025 Application Form?

Here are the complete steps and guide to filling out the Joint CSIR-UGC NET application form:

Step 1: Visit the official NTA CSIR NET website (https://csirnet.nta.nic.in/) to begin the online application process. The form is only available online.

Step 2: Register by providing personal details such as name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID. Note down the generated application number.

Step 3: Log in using the application number and set a password to access the application form.

Step 4: Fill in the application form with details, including contact information, identity proof, examination center choices (select four cities), educational qualifications, and category details.

Step 5: Upload scanned images of the candidate’s recent photograph (10-200 KB, JPG/JPEG) and signature (10-50 KB, JPG/JPEG) along with relevant certificates such as category, PwD/PwBD certificate, and result awaited certificate if applicable.

Step 6: Carefully review all entered details and documents as corrections can be limited after final submission.

Step 7: Pay the application fee online through net banking, debit/credit card, or UPI. Fees vary by category.

Step 8: After successful fee payment, download and save the confirmation page for future reference. The application is complete only on payment confirmation.

Submission of the application fee is mandatory for each aspirant looking to attend CSIR - UGC NET exam. Without paying the application fee, the application form will be treated as incomplete. The fee varies by candidates' category, i.e., for General it is INR 1150, General-EWS / OBC it is INR 600, and candidates belonging to SC / ST / PwD / PwBD / Third Gender need to pay INR 325.

• Copy of Board/University Certificate

• Valid ID proof (Passport Number, Ration Card, Aadhaar Card Number, Digi locker, Voter ID Card Number, APAR ID, or other Government ID)
