YBN University Eligibility Criteria

The admission process at YBN University, Ranchi is currently going on for its many undergraduate, postgraduate diploma and doctoral programmes. The eligibility criteria depend on the level of the course and specialization. Mainly, for most of the undergraduate programmes, the candidates should have completed 10+2 from a recognized board. Popular healthcare courses like BHMS need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) with NEET qualification. B.Sc Nursing, BPT, B.Sc Nutrition & Dietetics, and Bachelor of Public Health also demand a PCB background. For Pharmacy programmes like B.Pharm and Pharm.D, students with PCB or PCM subjects are considered. Engineering programmes, including B.Tech and integrated B.Tech-M.Tech requires 10+2 with PCM. Then again, BCA, B.Com, B.A., BBA, BSW, and Mass Communication programmes are open to eligible students of respective streams. Certain management programmes require a minimum of 45% marks in the qualifying examination.

To be eligible for the postgraduate programmes, the applicants should possess a relevant bachelor's degree from a recognised university in the respective discipline. M.Pharm aspirants should have a B.Pharm degree with at least 50% of aggregate marks. Corresponding undergraduate qualifications are minimum requirements for MPT, M. Optometry, MMLT, and other allied health programmes. An MBA application requires a graduation with a minimum 45% marks. In the same way, MCA, M.Com, M.A., MSW, MPH, LL.M.  and other programmes need relevant academic backgrounds.

The YBN University also provides several diploma programmes for those students who want a skill-oriented education. ANM and GNM demand a 10+2 qualification, whereas D.Pharm is for students who have PCB or PCM at the 10+2 level. Diploma in Engineering and Diploma in Agriculture are for students who have passed class 10. According to the course, specialised diploma programmes in horticulture, organic farming, fire and industrial safety, library science, and so on have eligibility criteria ranging from Class 10 up to graduation.

PhD applicants should carry a related postgraduate degree. A PhD in Law requires an LL.M., while for doctoral studies in Science, Arts, Humanities, and Library Science, a relevant master's degree is required. YBN University, Ranchi is currently accepting the admission form for their undergraduate (UG) programs for the session 2026-27. The university provides UG programs in Engineering, Medical, Allied Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Law, Agriculture, Computer Applications, etc. Admissions to these programmes are done using YBN University Common Entrance Test (YCET) 202627, which is a Scholarship-cum-Entrance Test offering a single admission platform for all major disciplines.

The admission process at this university follows YCET 2026-27 entrance test. It gives students the chance to apply for multiple undergraduate programmes by taking a single entrance examination. YBN University result for YCET will be declared after 10 days of the exam being conducted. On the performance in exams, students can get merit-based scholarships, allowing them up to a 100% tuition fee waiver. The popular UG programmes such as BHMS, B.Sc. Nursing, B.Pharm, B.Tech, BCA, BBA, B.Com, B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.) BPT, etc. 

The students must fulfill all the eligibility conditions of admission at YBN University according to the course requirements. For UG admission, generally, the candidate has passed 10+2 from a recognized board. Some of the programmes demand subject-wise specifications, such as Engineering programmes require PCM, and healthcare programmes require PCB. Professional programmes such as BHMS require a valid NEET qualification. For B.Tech, the selected qualified candidates may be selected based on JEE scores.

While taking admission, a one-time admission charge ranging between INR 21,000 and INR 25,000 must be submitted. Besides, for many programmes, a registration fee of INR 6,000 is applicable, while for some courses, the registration amount is included in their total fee structure. These admission and registration fees are included in the YBN University fee structure. 

Also, candidates are required to complete document verification, counselling (if applicable), and fee payment for the course to confirm their admission.

YBN University PG Admission 2026

YBN University PG Admission 2026 is open for various postgraduate programs in disciplines like engineering, management, commerce, pharmacy, law, and lots other. Those who have acquired a relevant bachelor's degree from a recognized university are eligible to apply for admission.

Selection for taking admission in the university is based on the prescribed eligibility, applicability and admission process. For the 2026-27 academic session, YBN University has launched the YCET (YBN University Scholarship Cum Entrance Test). It is a single entrance test that works as the basis for admission to all the courses M.Tech (specializations), M.Sc, MBA, LLM, MA, etc. at the university. Those students who qualify YCET are also eligible for merit-based scholarships for up to 100% tuition fee waiver, making higher education more affordable.

The applicants are required to complete the YBN University application form formalities by submitting it through the university portal, document verification, and payment of the requisite admission fee. As per the university fee structure, most postgraduate programmes comprise a one-time admission charge of INR 5100, an enrolment fee of INR 1,000, and a registration fee of INR 3,000, which are all part of the total course fee. But, these charges even vary by course type, like LL.M. carries an admission fee of INR 11,000 and a registration fee of INR 5000, M.Pharm programmes consist of an admission fee of INR 21000, an enrolment fee of INR 1,000, and a registration fee of INR 3,000, these charges already included in the YBN University Ranch fee structure. 

Candidates who want to be admitted to YBN University in Ranchi can submit their application form for the programme they like through the university's official website. First, applicants should check the eligibility criteria prescribed for the course they wish to pursue.
