

Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha Engineering College (VRSEC) was the first private engineering college in Andhra Pradesh, founded in 1977. However, in 2024, VR Siddhartha Engineering College was declared a deemed-to-be university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The Institute has been accredited by the NBA and NAAC with an A+ grade.
Additionally, VR Siddhartha Engineering College Ranking in NIRF has been below 200 as the only Institute among the other private institutions that have been ranked from Andhra Pradesh for the last eight years. It is also positioned in the Band of 51-100 in the Innovation Category in NIRF-India Rankings in 2023.
It also has over 40,000 successful alumni and over 150 PhD faculty members. Currently, the University offers courses such as B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Com, B.Sc, MCA, MBA, LLM, and doctoral programs. These courses aim to support interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary education that enhances the student’s holistic development.
VR Siddhartha Engineering College name has been changed to ‘Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education.’ It also offers facilities to play cricket, football, basketball, athletics, and indoor games like table tennis and badminton, hostel facilities, transportation facilities, and more.
Along with this, the University’s placement cell ensures that all the eligible students get fair opportunities to get placed in top companies. Students from this University were offered the highest salary package of INR 52.6 LPA and the average salary package of INR 5 LPA. Some of the top companies that took part in the placement drive were Accenture, ADP, Avantel, BSCPL, Capgemini, D-Mart, HSBC, IBM, HALEON, and more.
The research policy has been crafted in alignment with the National Education Policy NEP-2020. It emphasises the critical role of research and innovation in building a knowledge-driven society.
Currently, the University has received INR 4.86 crores as research grants, gained INR 8.37 crores as revenue from consultancy projects, has 71 patents granted, over 2400 research publications, over 20 industry collaborations, and 7 centres of excellence.

VR Siddhartha Engineering College offers a wide range of courses for its students. These include B.Tech, BBA, BSc (hons), B.Com (hons), M.Tech, MBA, LLM, and MCA, and also offers doctoral programs. Students who want to get admission into any of these courses need to have a valid entrance exam score mentioned in the eligibility criteria of that course, or they need to appear for the entrance exam organised by the University.

Students who want to get admission into any of the courses offered by the VR Siddhartha Engineering College should fulfil the following eligibility criteria for their preferred course:
Candidates applying for the B.Tech course need to appear for the Siddhartha Engineering Entrance Examination (SEEE). Additionally, they should have passed class 12th in the PCM stream with a minimum of 50% marks.
Students getting admission through lateral entry should have a diploma in engineering with at least 50% marks and a rank in the ECET entrance examination.
For Admission into the M.Tech course, students need to have passed the B.Tech course with 50% marks from a recognised university. They also need to have a valid score in exams, such as GATE/ APPGECET.
Candidates who want to get admission into the MBA or MCA course need to appear for the particular entrance exam organised by the University. Students who have a valid score in the APICET exam and those who have a minimum of 50% marks in their Bachelor’s degree.
Once a student has cleared the entrance exam, they need to appear for a group discussion and a personal interview.
Those who want to get admission into the PhD programs need to appear for the Siddhartha Research Common Admission Test.
Additionally, if a student wants to get admission into a PhD in Engineering, they need to have a Master’s in Engineering, Technology, Integrated M.Tech program, or MS by Research with a minimum of 55% marks in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program.
The placement cell at VR Siddhartha Engineering College creates a platform for students to explore and find suitable job opportunities in their preferred companies. They also help students enhance their employability by organising training sessions in technical skills, soft skills, and industry certifications.
According to the placement report 2024-25, students were offered the highest salary package of INR 52.6 LPA, and the average salary of INR 5 LPA. Along with this, over 252 students were offered a salary package of INR 4.5 LPA by Accenture. Whereas eight students from Verizon were offered a salary package of INR 4.6 LPA. Some of the companies that took part in the recent placement drive were Wipro, Renew Energy, Vegrow, Veda IIT, TVS, JP Morgan, Infosys, and more.
The University offers scholarships for its meritorious students and those who are unable to continue their studies due to financial difficulties. However, students are limited to 30% of the intake in respective courses, granted they fulfil the first-come, first-served criteria. Additionally, the scholarships will be continued in the subsequent years only if they maintain 75% attendance and a 7.5 CGPA without backlogs.
