The University of Engineering and Management UEM Kolkata offers many programs for students at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. The undergraduate courses range from three to five years, while the PG course is of two years. For UG admission, applicants need to pass Class 12 from a recognised board, while PG applicants must hold a graduation degree. The university also conducts its own entrance exam called IEMJEE.
Some students having a valid scorecard of the State and National-level entrance examinations, such as JEE, WBJEE, CUET, CLAT, CAT, MAT, GATE, or UGC-NET, shall be exempted from the university’s own entrance exam. The final merit list of the selected students is based on the marks obtained in the entrance examination, academic performance, Group discussion and Personal Interview rounds.
Along with the UG and PG, the university also offers PhD programs in fields like EE, ME, CSE, ECE, IT, Biotech, MBA, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biological Science, English, and other interdisciplinary allied fields. The PhD program is for a minimum of 3 years. To be eligible for PhD admission, students must have a master’s degree in any discipline with at least 60% marks from a UGC-recognised university. The university administration decides the fee for the PhD programs.
