The Design Village offers industry-centric B.Des and M.Des degree programs. This is in collaboration with the OP Jindal Global University. Each of these programs provides a comprehensive education in design principles, techniques, and industry practices. Students who want to get admission into any of these courses should fill out the online application form and submit the required documents within the given deadline.
Candidates applying for this Institute must fulfill the basic eligibility criteria before applying for admission. To get admission into these courses, students must have finished their 12th class in the relevant stream. Along with this, students also need to appear for the entrance process organised by the Institute.
The Design Village offers a Bachelor of Design (Hons) course, and it is a four-year course. Students who want to get admission into this course should have completed their class 12th in any stream. Some of the specialisations offered in this course are:
Communication & Interaction Design- It focuses on the creative and technological abilities that help students work across traditional and modern media.
Fashion & Textile Design- Through this specialisation, students learn to merge the field of fashion and textile design. Students get trained in designing and manufacturing clothing, materials, and the technology of textiles, etc.
Interior & Space Design- In this specialisation, the focus is on imagination and realisation of the built environment.
Product & Industrial Design- Through this specialisation, students are trained in an end-to-end design process. It also includes creating prototypes and delivering finished products.
Strategic Design & Management-This specialisation helps students understand how to devise business decisions, grasp metrics, collaborate across teams, and more.
Transdisciplinary Design- Through this specialisation, students overcome traditional disciplinary boundaries by mixing knowledge, methods, and perspectives from various fields, such as engineering, sciences, and social sciences.
Additionally, students also get to take part in the 2-month creative residency at TDV Europe Campus in Milan. This residency helps students immerse themselves in the world’s leading hub of fashion, product, and space design, and draw inspiration from its cultural heritage. The Institute also provides a postgraduate course, which is the Master of Design course. It is a two-year course, and students who want to get admission into this course should have completed their Bachelor’s degree, or they should be in the final year of their graduation in any subject. Communication & Interaction Design- In this specialisation, students will learn how to work across traditional and modern mediums in the field of design.
Fashion & Textile Design- The merging of the fields of fashion and textile design helps students in designing & manufacturing clothing, materials, and technology of textiles, and more.
Interior & Space Design-Students get to focus on the imagination & realisation of the built environment. They also get exposure related to buildings, exhibitions, installations, and other forms of space.
Product & Industrial Design- Students get training related to product design, and they also get access to TDV’s Exo-lab network. This provides them with exposure to neighboring studios & factories so that students can see the work in real-time.
Strategic Design & Management- Through this specialisation, students learn how to shape organisational strategy and influence high-level decisions related to business growth, customer lifecycle, and more.
Transdisciplinary Design- While studying this specialisation, students get to integrate knowledge, methods, and perspectives from different fields into design.
Additionally, students get real-world learning through taskboxes that are introduced by corporations such as Godrej, Google, and Muji. The students engage with various clients to produce outcomes for real-world situations.
