

The placement season was a good projection of the variety that students had to choose their opportunities as there was variety in terms of recruitment be it in the corporate or the public. This pool of recruiters demonstrates the increasing attraction of the institute by other non conventional cooperative organisations.
The Regional Institute of Cooperative Management, Chandigarh, was shown to have performed relatively well in 2023 in terms of placement. The peak package that students received amounted to INR 7.2 LPA in a year but the average salary package was INR 3.5 LPA which showed an encouraging trend of compensation levels all round. The median salary package was INR 3.2 LPA implying a relatively smooth balance of salaries amongst the placed candidates. There were 140 placement offers that were placed but the precise number of placed students was not presented. The diversity in the recruiter base showed 38 companies present on the campus in the institute. Of interest were the top recruiters who were companies such as Infosys, ICICI and HDFC, which demonstrated the close relations of the institute with the cooperative and public sector spheres.

Pre-Placement Preparation: The institute commences its placement season with career development courses and sessions, resume building sessions and mock interviews. These exercises aim at providing students with proper skills and self-belief to confront recruiters.
Field training and Internship: The students have internship and field training as a component of their course especially in cooperative and agribusiness programs. This practical work is going to make them more employable and learn the perils of the outside world.
Recruiters Engagement: RICM Chandigarh has both public and private sector recruiter attendance. In 2025, the companies that were part of the placement drive included Axis bank, HDFC bank, and Indiabulls, Airtel and Allahabad bank as we had the chance to get the positions in finance, operations and management.
Placement Drives & Interviews: The institute generates placement drives on campus where the students come in a face to face contact with the recruiters. The process of interviewing occurs in various rounds which include aptitude test, group discussions, and personal interviews.
Final Offers and Careers Firms: The students get job offers in different fields namely Banking, Telecom, Publishes, Cooperative Services etc. The institute also assists students willing to venture into business or working in government departments.
