The University offers students postgraduate courses, such as LLM and the Master of Cyber Law and Information Security. The duration of these courses ranges from 1 year to 4 years. The LLM is offered in different specialisations, such as Intellectual Property & Business Law, Constitutional & Administrative Law, and Human Rights & Criminal Law.
The total seat intake for LLM is 60. For LLM admission, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Law with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC & ST categories). Whereas, for the Master of Cyber Law & Information Security admission, one has an LLB or a related degree in a technical field, such as Computer Science or IT, with a minimum score of 50% to 55%.

NLIU also offers a PhD program in Law, and admission to this program is done through the All-India Entrance Test conducted by the University. The PhD is offered in Law, Interdisciplinary, and Cyber Law and Information Security, with a duration of four years.
Candidates who are non-JRF will be awarded with Teaching Assistantship after completion of their two-year coursework. For admission, students must have a Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent CGPA from a recognised University.
