NIT Srinagar Eligibility Criteria

B.Tech Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission to B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) program, candidates must meet several academic and entrance exam-related criteria.
Firstly, they must have completed their Class 12 or equivalent examination, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects. In addition, candidates must have secured a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in Class 12 board exams. However, there is a relaxation in the minimum marks for students belonging to SC, ST, or PwD categories, which is at least 65%.
An important part of the eligibility process is clearing the JEE Mains. After qualifying the JEE Mains exam, candidates can participate in the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling. This centralised process involves choice filling, seat allocation, and admission confirmation based on candidates' JEE Mains ranks and preferences.
M.Tech Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have finished a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology. The overall marks scored should be at least 60%. If candidates belong to the SC or ST categories, then they need a minimum of 55% marks. They also must have completed a Master’s degree in the Science subject, with the same percentage rule, i.e., 60% minimum for the general category students, and 55% for SC/ST students.
Apart from these educational requirements, having a valid GATE score card is mandatory for M.Tech admissions.
M.Sc Eligibility Criteria
To apply for M.Sc. Admission through IIT JAM, students first need to have a Bachelor’s degree in a related subject or field. Next, they need to clear the IIT JAM entrance exam. Once they pass the exam, they can take part in the counselling process, where they get a chance to choose and join a college or program based on their rank and preferences.
For MBA Programs, candidates must typically hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category). In addition to academic qualifications, candidates are expected to clear the CAT entrance examination.
Ph.D Program Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 60% marks, although a relaxation to 55% is provided to SC/ST category students.
