For the 2025 admission to the NIT, Manipur, the eligibility criteria vary as per the course and the level of the course. For admission to the undergraduate degree program (B.Tech), applicants must hold a minimum aggregate score of 75% for the general and OBC category students in 12th with PCM as a major subject. For the SC, ST and PwD category admission, the candidates are required to hold a minimum passing score of 65%.
Whereas for the PG level courses, the minimum passing scores are 60% in a Bachelor’s degree in relevant subjects, along with a qualifying score in IIT JAM or GATE entrance examination.
For a PhD degree course, applicants are required to clear the GATE or NET entrance examination and hold a minimum score of 60% in a master’s degree with relevant subjects from a recognized board.
Moreover, the NIT Manipur also provides seats to the Non-IIT JAM or Non-GATE applicants for the full-time and part-time programs for 2025-26 academic batch. Applications are accepted for students who are sponsored by the R&D organisation or any other academic institutions recognized by the government.
For the Part-time entry, applicants must be employed regularly by a recognised institute or organization, including the NIT Manipur staff or facilities, with a minimum of 2 years.
The admission for the PG courses without GATE or IIT JAM scores has already been invited for the academic session 2025 from 17 June 2025 and the last date to apply for the PG course without entrance examination is 17 July 2025.
NIT Manipur undergraduate admissions are evaluated based on the JEE (Main ) scores, followed by the Counselling conducted by the JoSAA and CSAB.

To be eligible for admission to the National Institute of Technology Manipur, UG course applicants are required to hold a minimum qualifying score of 75% in Class 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. With the advancement of Technology and Engineering courses, the NIT Manipur has offered various skills with specialised courses in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering.
Applications for the Master’s degree courses at the NIT Manipur are accepted through the counselling conducted by the CCMT based on the GATE score rank. The registration for the CCMT counselling has already been invited on 14 May 2025, and the last date for the registration of CCMT was 4 June 2025.
For the M.Tech course, the CCMT counselling is going on from 9 June 2025, and the last date for the counselling for the B.Tech courses is 27 June 2025. Additionally, CCMT also conducts special rounds for the seat allotment for the vacant seats. The registration for the CCMT special round begins on 11 July 2025, and the last date to apply for the counselling is 15 July 2025.
National Institute of Technology PhD courses are available in various specialisations like Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and English.
The NIT Manipur conducts PhD admission in two sessions in January and July. The January session admissions are closed for the 2025-26 batch, whereas, for the admission to the July session, applicants are required to submit their application through the official website from 17 June 2025 to 15 July 2025.
For admission to the PhD courses, students must go through the written test and interview round conducted offline. The dates for the written test for PhD courses are 21 July 2025, and the interview will be held on 22 July 2025. Master’ degree in the engineering and technology field is required with a minimum score of 6.5 CGPA or 60% from a recognised university. Additionally, for admission to PhD courses, applicants must qualify for the GATE or NET entrance examination.
