NIT Mizoram Admission Process
NIT Mizoram is one of India’s premier technical institutes, founded in 2010. NIT Mizoram offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Ph.D programs in various engineering disciplines. NIT Mizoram Admission 2025
Admission to the NIT Mizoram for the academic year 2025 is primarily based on national-level entrance examinations. For undergraduate programs like B.Tech, candidates must qualify the JEE Main 2025 and participate in the JoSAA or CSAB counselling process. The tuition fee for the entire B. Tech course is INR 5,00,000. NIT Mizoram Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for admission to NIT Mizoram across different programs is mentioned below:
For the B.Tech Program:
Candidates must have passed Class 12 in PCM with at least 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC/ST).
Must clear the JEE Main entrance exam.
Admission is done through JoSAA/CSAB counselling.
For M.Tech Program:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD).
Must qualify the GATE entrance exam.
Participate in the CCMT counselling.
For Ph.D Program:
Master’s degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 55% marks.
Selection is based on GATE/UGC NET/CSIR NET or a written test + interview conducted by NIT Mizoram.
NIT Mizoram UG Admission 2025
Undergraduate admission to NIT Mizoram for the 2025 academic year is primarily based on the JEE Mains entrance exam for the B.Tech program, which is offered in various engineering disciplines such as Computer Science, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, and Electronics & Communication. The admission process is followed by centralised counselling via JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) and CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board).
The selection is strictly based on the candidate's JEE Main rank. Once the results are declared, eligible candidates must register for JoSAA counselling, where they can select NIT Mizoram as one of their preferences.
Eligibility criteria: Candidates must have completed their Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and should have secured at least 75% aggregate marks. For SC/ST candidates, the minimum required percentage is 65%.
NIT Mizoram BTech Admission 2025
NIT Mizoram gives students a chance to study B.Tech in different fields like Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Mechatronics, Data Science with AI, and Metallurgy. To get admission into these courses, students need to clear the JEE Mains exam. Once they have cleared the JEE Mains exam, they can choose NIT Mizoram while participating in the JoSAA counselling. This counselling helps students get seats based on their exam ranks. The total BTech tuition fee is INR 5,00,000.
Only students who passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths (PCM) can apply. Also, they need at least 75% marks in their board exams. However, students from SC, ST, or PwD categories only need 65% marks.
NIT Mizoram PG Admission 2025
Admission to the M.Tech programs is done via the Centralised Counselling for M.Tech (CCMT), which is based on GATE scores. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in engineering or technology with at least 60% marks (or 55% for SC/ST/PwD categories) to be eligible. The total tuition fee for MTech is INR 1,40,000.
The CCMT 2025 counselling process consists of several rounds for seat allotment, verification of documents, and making fee payments. The schedule for the first and second rounds of seat allocations for CCMT 2025 has ended, and the third round will be held on 27 June 2025.
NIT Mizoram PhD Admissions 2025
