Along with this, NIFT Chennai conducts the NIFT Entrance exam, as the admission in the Courses offered is based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance exam, followed by the personal interview. National Institute of Fashion Technology Chennai Eligibility Criteria
NIFT Chennai eligibility criteria for the Undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses offered at the National Institute of Fashion Technology Chennai are different from other Universities in India. Candidates must keep in mind to check the criteria first before enrolling, which is as follows:
For the Bachelor’s program, like B.Des (Fashion Design), B.Des (Accessory Design), Bachelor of Fashion Technology (Apparel Production) and more, candidates are required to complete their 10+2 from a well-recognised state and central board.
NIFT conducts an entrance exam for admission to any course offered, which is followed by a personal interview.
Apart from this, for enrolling in the Postgraduate program of NIFT, candidates also need to have a bachelor’s degree from a recognised and approved University or educational institution.
The maximum age of the candidates enrolling in NIFT must be less than 24 years, and the upper age limit may be relaxed by a period of 5 years for candidates of the SC, ST categories.
Candidates having a diploma of 3 or 4 years recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education are also eligible to apply. Artisans/wards of artisans can also take admission in NIFT through the Artisan Card issued to Self/ Father/ Mother by the Ministry of Textiles (Government of India).

For admission in this Undergraduate program, candidates are required to complete their 10+2 from a well-recognised state/central board, and the University also conducts an entrance exam for admission.
