Students having a Bachelor’s degree with 50% of marks (45% for reserved categories) can enrol for the NIFT postgraduate courses, whereas for admission to the undergraduate programs of NIFT Chennai, candidates need to complete their 10+2 from a well-recognised state/central board with the aggregate marks required.

• The maximum age of the candidates enrolling in NIFT must be less than 24 years, and the upper age limit may be relaxed by a period of 5 years for candidates of the SC, ST categories. 

• Candidates having a diploma of 3 or 4 years recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education are also eligible to apply. Artisans/wards of artisans can also take admission in NIFT through the Artisan Card issued to Self/ Father/ Mother by the Ministry of Textiles (Government of India).

National Institute of Fashion Technology Chennai B.Des Admission 2025

National Institute of Fashion Technology Chennai offers an Undergraduate program, Bachelor of Design (B.Des), with a wide range of specialisations like fashion Design, Textile Design, and more. The duration of the B.Des program of NIFT Chennai is 4 years.

For admission in this Undergraduate program, candidates are required to complete their 10+2 from a well-recognised state/central board, and the University also conducts an entrance exam for admission. Candidates with a Diploma of 4 to 5 years recognised by AICTE can also enrol for the B.Des program of NIFT Chennai.

Candidates who completed 10+2 with mathematics as a core subject from a recognised State/Central Board are eligible to apply for B.F.Tech program of NIFT Chennai.
