Students must have passed Class 12 with Science subjects, and a minimum of 50% marks. However, the OBC-3A category and SC/ST students of Karnataka are required to secure at least 40% marks.

Selection to the MBBS program is based on the NEET exam score.
For PG courses like MD/MS, students must have passed the MBBS degree from a recognised institution, and have completed one year of Compulsory Rotating Internship in a teaching institution.
