Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Bhubaneswar, established in 2007, was ranked among the top 26 medical colleges in the country in 2023 by the Union Government-instituted National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF). The institute was founded by the well-known educationalist Prof. Achyuta Samanta, and the courses are recognised by NMC, formerly by MCI (Medical Council of India). Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences is a constituent institute of KIIT and offers MBBS, B.Sc, MD, MS, DM, MCh and Diploma courses.
The annual fee for all the courses available for students comes with a reasonable fee structure that ranges from INR 10,000 to INR 23,00,000, approximately. The Institute provides excellent opportunities for exposure and practical training with internships, where the budding doctors also have the advantage of a stipend. Following that, students are free to look for their desired jobs. Apart from these facilities, the institute also provides various scholarships to its students.
Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs under the specialisations: Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Anatomy, etc. The Institute also allows students to choose from different specialisations under the program, such as the Superspeciality program, Fellowship, Diploma programs, and Doctorate program. After the announcement of the NEET UG (June 14, 2025) and NEET PG (July 15, 2025) results, admission to the above-mentioned courses will start. However, admission for the fellowship and diploma program has already started from 25 May 2025, and classes started on 1 June 2025 for the same course.

For the academic year 2025, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences has established specific requirements for available programs that students have to meet:
Candidates must pass Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Maths from a recognised board.
