The doctoral (Ph.D.) programs at IIT Kanpur are available in diverse areas like Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Management Sciences, Humanities, and several others. Apart from a master’s degree with minimum required marks, a 4-year bachelor's degree in engineering or science with at least 75 percent marks or 7.5 CPI, and a valid GATE score or other national-level qualifications like JRF or NET. The condition of the GATE score is removed for the candidates who have a bachelor's degree in engineering from the centrally funded technical institutes (CFTIs).
