
Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar was established in 2008. It is one of the eight new IITs announced by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The JEE Advanced exam for 2026, the exam is in May, around. The students will be able to download their admit cards in the second week of May. The results will come out by the first week of June. Before taking JEE Advanced, students must first pass the JEE Main exam, which will be held twice in 2026 – once in January and then from April. The results of JEE Main are usually announced soon after each exam session. This schedule gives students enough time to prepare and take both exams properly.

The GATE exam is an important test for admission to postgraduate engineering programs. For 2026, the GATE exam will be held on four days: The exam will have two sessions each day, one in the morning from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and one in the afternoon from 5:30 pm. IIT Gandhinagar Placement Career Development Services reached out to about 2,000 companies, which is 358 more than last year. Because of this, placements improved in every way. Students received 203 job offers in total, and around 71% got at least one offer. Postgraduate students did better than before—MTech placement went up from 71% to 78%, and MSc from 38% to 51%. For undergraduate students, placements dropped from 92% to 81%. Salary packages also increased this year.
The average and median salaries for UG students grew by about 25%, and the overall average increased by 28%. Like before, most offers (around 68%) came from core sectors. This shows that many students still prefer core jobs, but some might not know much about or feel ready for non-core opportunities.
