Final admissions criteria for PGPM
The following parameters and the corresponding weights will be used to arrive at the composite scores of the candidates to prepare the final merit list for admissions:
1. CAT Percentile: 47 percent weightage
2. Written Analysis Test: 5 percent weightage
3. Personal Interview: 20 percent weightage
Based on the normalized PI scores, the lowest 20% of the candidates in each category will not be considered for admission to the PGPM 2025-27 batch.
4. Work experience: 10 percent weightage

Stage 1 - Eligibility Check
All students who apply for the two-year PGP at IIM Tiruchirappalli must meet the eligibility rules mentioned above. Stage-2: Written Analysis Test

Stage-4: Final Selection

ADMISSION PROCESS
Prospective candidates must maintain a valid and unique email account and a mobile number throughout the selection process.
STAGE 1: Application Submission Round
Interested candidates will have to apply in the prescribed format through the application form available on the website. A non-refundable application fee of INR 2,000 for general category students and a non-refundable fee of INR 1000 for SC/ST/DAP has to be remitted through the payment portal for successful completion of the application. Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli candidates availing a concessional application fee are required to attach a copy of the relevant certificate along with their application.
The last date for submission of online application forms, complete in all respects to IIM Tiruchirappalli, would be January 31, 2026.
STAGE 2: Aptitude Test & Personal Interview (PI) Round
All candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and whose applications are fully completed in all aspects and submitted will be called for Aptitude Test and Personal Interview (PI), at the respective scheduled date at IIM Tiruchirappalli (Chennai Campus).
Aptitude Test:
The Aptitude Test will be of total 120 minutes in duration and will examine candidates in quantitative ability, verbal ability, data interpretation, and logical reasoning.
Candidates will be exempted from the IIMT Aptitude Test if they have any of the following valid scores:
CAT: A valid exam score from any of the 2025/2024/2023 sessions.
GMAT: A valid GMAT score (valid for five years from the test date).
GRE: A valid GRE score (valid for five years from the test date).
Candidates who choose to use their CAT/GMAT/GRE scores must still complete the application form and pay the application fee.
Personal interview:

How to register for IIMB TEST at Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli:
Please visit the course Admissions section online (on official website) for instructions on how to register for the IIMB Test. Applying for PGPEM or PhD does not automatically register a candidate for the IIMB Test. Similarly, registering for the IIMB Test does not lead to an automatic submission of the PhD application. They have to apply separately to both the processes.
Applicants can choose to appear in the IIMB Test either once or twice. If the applicant chooses to take the IIMB Test twice, only the highest score will be considered during admission.
If the applicant opts for the first round but is unable to attend the test (for whatever reason), the test fee paid earlier means it’s wasted. The applicant can appear for the second round by paying the test fee again.
Registration for the IIMB Test will generate a unique receipt number, which the candidates will be needing later on to enter into the online application form.
IIMB Test score will be used for the internal processing of the application, and no test score card shall be issued to the candidate.
TEST FEE
Each applicant must pay INR 1,200 for attempting each round of IIMB Test. This test fee is completely non-refundable.
Note-
The IIMB Test at Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli will be conducted and invigilated online by the IIMB exam committee. The candidates can participate in the test from their own residence / home. The conditions / requirements to be followed by the candidates will be shared ahead of the test on the official IIMB test platform.
Application and Selection Process of DPM (Doctoral Programme in Management)
Submission of the application form Candidates interested in pursuing the Doctoral Programme in Management at IIM Tiruchirappalli (IIMT) begin their application process by submitting their application form and all associated submissions (academic record documents, certificates, qualifying examination scores, application fees etc.). At this stage, candidates express their interest in pursuing their Ph.D. at IIMT by choosing to apply to one or two areas of interest. This is the first opportunity of communication that the candidate is provided to help members of the admission committee understand their motivation to pursue research in a particular area and join Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli.
Candidates must ensure that they provide all necessary information requested in the application form and provide photocopies of any supporting documents they wish to submit to strengthen their candidature. These application forms and supporting documents will be scrutinized, based on which a shortlist will be released. Candidates who qualify to enter the next stage of the admission process will be conducted accordingly. Stage 2 and Stage 3 of the admission process require the shortlisted candidates to travel to IIMT. These stages are typically held in the month of March. These stages will be held on two consecutive days. Institute will reimburse travel expenses limited to III AC train fare (with a maximum cap), to shortlisted candidates. 2. Research Aptitude Examination and Area Interview- This stage of the admission process requires the candidates to participate in one or both of the following processes, as:
Research Aptitude Examination: This will be a written examination that is conducted by some of the areas. This examination is conducted to test the candidate's research aptitude in a particular area of specialization. Thus, the content of the examination is very specific to the area. It may range from an examination of the candidates’ quantitative aptitude to their ability to understand and analyze/ synthesize research papers.
Area Interview: All candidates shortlisted in Stage 1, will be required to attend the personal interview with members of/ experts in their chosen area of specialization.
Candidates who clear this stage of the process will be sent an offer of admission to the Ph.D. Programme in Management. It is considered as the final confirmation for the admission of the management programme.
IIM Tiruchirappalli EDPM Admission Details
The Executive Doctoral Programme in Management. at IIM Tiruchirappalli is a doctoral program tailored for senior working professionals who desire a deep research in management while they keep their jobs. Being a program of non, residential nature, the candidates can comfortably manage their work and study time. This course is designed for experienced executives to learn how to think and work like researchers without making a halt of their professional obligations.

IIM Tiruchirappalli Application Fee
Candidates are required to apply online for the EDPM course. They can only apply to any one area of specializations. An application fee of INR 1000 is to be remitted online (Credit Card/Debit Card/NEFT/UPI) through the procedure provided in the instructions on the official institute website.
No application fee is applicable in the case of SC/ST/PwD candidates. Scanned copies of all academic mark sheets, certificates, qualifying examination scorecards, category certificates and research proposals are to be uploaded along with the online application form.
