IIM SIrmaur admission process is pretty straightforward considering the way they conduct in a transparent way for the applying candidates. The admission process is very unique depending on each particular course offered by the institute itself like the PGP programmes, MBA and the doctoral programmes to the enrolled students here.The institute takes into consideration the CAT scores for admissions of all its management courses for the applying candidates.
After generally considering the CAT score’s merit, the candidate is made to go through a personal interview round for the second round. The personal interviews conducted here at the campus are done here to check the candidates skills related to the general aptitude, language, presentation, and mathematics etc.
Most programmes here are on-campus except the Executive management course programs which are conducted mostly on the virtual modes for the working professionals. It helps the students to upgrade their management skills for their desired sectors.

Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS): Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) is a five-year dual degree (B.A. + MBA) program for students directly after Class 12. It is basically the one designed for students that wish to start early and gain a stronghold in management, analytical thinking, and leadership skills.

The selection process for the BMS course at IIM Sirmaur has three main steps. The IIM Sirmaur uses the IPMAT score to shortlist students. The process starts with the exam score, then the interview, and then the final score.
Step 1: Shortlisting
The institute checks the Aptitude Test Score from IPMAT.
Students who meet the score need are shortlisted.
These students move to the next step.
Step 2: Interview
Shortlisted students are called for a personal interview.
The interview helps the institute understand how the student thinks and speaks.

Important Rules
The maximum age allowed is 20 years as of August 1, 2025.
SC, ST and PwD students get five years of age relaxation.
Students must give correct information.
Wrong or false details will lead to cancellation of admission.
Admission is confirmed only after all mark sheets and certificates are submitted before the deadline.
If the student does not submit them on time, the seat will be cancelled.
Seats are reserved as per Government of India rules for NC OBC, SC, ST, EWS and PwD groups.
Students must show valid documents for their category.

The candidate must be a HCL employee working currently. A minimum of 60% aggregate marks are required in the previous academic year (CGPA). 5% relaxation in the overall marks is given to the applying SC, ST & DA candidates (more than or equal to 40% marks for disabled students)

CAT/ GMAT/ GATE/ GRE/ NET score- Candidate requires a valid test score of CAT/ GMAT/ GATE/ GRE/ NET. If a candidate has done MBA (regular) from an IIM with a CGPA of 8.00 (10 Point Scale) and above (or equivalent), then would be exempted from these scores.
Note- Online GMAT/GRE (take from home) exam scores are not meant to be valid. Only test center-based GMAT/GRE scores are valid.

Bachelor's degree (on 10+2+4 pattern) with at least 70 % marks
Master's Degree in any discipline with 60 % marks or a two-year postgraduate diploma with at least 60 % marks along with a regular Bachelor’s degree with at least 60 % marks.
5-year Integrated Master’s Degree with at least 60 % marks (obtained after completing higher secondary schooling in 10+2 pattern) in any discipline.
Certifications-

(1st Phase) DAT Test: Doctoral Aptitude Test (DAT) is conducted here for the applicants who chose to appear for the same. Results of DAT would be declared as cleared/ not cleared.
(2nd Phase): Area wise applications would be tested. Based on the presentation provided by the applicants, candidates will be shortlisted on the recommendation of the respective areas.
(Stage 3): Shortlisted candidates will be invited for the first round of personal interview (PI) conducted by the members of the candidate’s chosen area of specialization(s).
(Stage 4): Candidates who are shortlisted after Stage 3 will be required to appear for a 2nd round of personal interview (PI) with the Doctoral Programme and Research Committee of the institute.
(Stage 5): Candidates who are recommended for admission after the 4th phase, will be given letters of admission to the PhD (Executive) at IIM Sirmaur.
Work Experience- Applicants must have full time work experience of at least five (5) years after graduation, in either industry/ or academics/ or research establishment.
Applicants with a minimum working experience of 6 months are eligible for the SAP (Supernumerary Admission Policy). This admission policy is applicable only to female students.
In order to promote gender equality here at the institute, a total of 40 of its seats are reserved for its female students. Through CAP 2025, the priority of admissions is always given to the female students here at the institute.
