Selection Process

Selection Process
The IIM Sambalpur Admission 2026 process happens in two stages, and below is a brief explanation of these stages:
Stage 1: Once the student finds themselves eligible for this course, they must go to the IIM Sambalpur Online registration page. Once the candidates open the IIM Sambalpur Admission Login page, they must fill out the online form and upload the necessary documents.
Stage 2: Once the entrance exams are over, the institute will create a cutoff and shortlist students based on that cutoff. All the candidates must have a valid IIT JEE (Mains) 2025 score.

The application fees for the General Category: INR 1000+ plus taxes.
SC/ST/ PwD Category OBC-NCL /EWS: INR 500+ plus taxes.
The application fee is non-refundable, and candidates can only pay the fee through the online admission application portal.
IIM Sambalpur Master of Business Administration (MBA) Admission Details
This is a two-year full-time residential programme, which helps students to gain aptitude & enhance their skills and knowledge so that they can work in the ever-changing business world. The first year offers core courses, which are common to all students.
In the second year, students get to choose their own specialisations in functional areas, such as Economics, Financial Management & Accounting, Information Systems Management, Policy & Strategy Management, and others. Students learn through various teaching methods like lecture-discussions, case method, problem-solving exercises, psychometric tests, projects, class presentations, and more.

Selection Process
The Master of Business Administration selection process is divided into three stages, and below is an overview of that:
Stage 1: Shortlisting
Once the CAT entrance exam results are out, students will be shortlisted based on the cutoff created by the institute. Additionally, all the shortlisted candidates will be sent a link to fill out the online application form on the admission portal of IIM Sambalpur.
Stage 2: Pre-Personal Interview Shortlisting
For the candidates who are shortlisted in Stage 1 and who will later fill out the online application form, a pre-PI score will be calculated out of 80 as follows:

Stage 3: Personal Interview
Shortlisted candidates appear for the personal interview conducted by IIM Sambalpur, and if they are not able to obtain a minimum score, they will not be considered for the merit list.

IIM Sambalpur MBA in Business Analytics Admission Details
The Master of Business Administration in Business Analytics helps students learn more about business analytics, data-informed decision-making, and strategic management. In the first year of the programme, students will study in the IIM Sambalpur New Delhi campus.

Eligibility Criteria for MBA in Business Analytics at IIM Sambalpur

For Industry Sponsored Candidates
Industry-sponsored candidates are also allowed to get admission into this course, provided they have been working in the sponsored organisation for at least two years at the time of admission.
Candidates under this category will be selected based on a personal interview. Furthermore, candidates will be required to submit a letter from the sponsoring company.
Statement of Purpose (SOP)
Candidates also need to submit a statement of purpose not more than 2000 words, and it should talk about the candidate’s career path, interests, goals, academic or professional contributions, and the reason to pursue this course.
Personal Interview

IIM Sambalpur Executive MBA Admission Details
IIM Sambalpur Admissions for the Executive MBA course has been successfully inducted four batches, since the batch was initiated in the year 2021. This is a two-year degree program for working or self-employed professionals.

The PhD programme is a full-time residential programme, where the students are expected to complete the programme in four years. However, under special situations, extension can be granted, but the program has to be finished within six years.
