The infrastructure fee is used to cover the basic necessities. It makes provision for the care of the computer, digital setup, library use, online tools, books, study material, maintenance of the hostel, and student welfare activities.
Deposits that are refundable consist of money that has been set aside for the library, the use of the computer, and the mess. This sum is returned later after there is a clearance of the account if there are any deductions.
Charges for the mess are done on a term basis. The payment is made according to the actual consumption.

Notes:
The infrastructure fee covers common things students use. It includes computer and network work. It also covers digital systems, online tools and library resources. This also includes books, study material, hostel upkeep, student activity costs and other basic running costs.
The refundable deposit includes the library deposit, computer deposit and mess deposit. This amount is returned later after making any small cuts if needed.
The alumni membership fee goes into the alumni fund.
Mess charges are paid by students based on the actual bill for each term.

Important Notes
The last date of payments is tentative and can be changed by the administration of IIM Lucknow.
Students have to pay an amount of INR 20,000 as Caution Money and INR 5,000 as Alumni Fees at the time of fee submission in the month of February 2026.

Fellowship Grants
Indian Institute of Management Lucknow provides fellowships to the indian students who opt for the PhD programmes. The students of doctoral programmes are awarded with the fellowship allowances. The duration of these fellowships ranges to four and a half years.
Scholars are provided with a fellowship stipend of Rs. 35,000 per month during the first and second years. The stipend will continue until the successful clearance of the Comprehensive Exam at the end of the second year. From the third year onwards, the stipend of INR 40,000 per month will be provided after the successful completion of the comprehensive examination in the third year.
Contingency Grant
All resident Indian scholars admitted to the doctoral programme at IIM Lucknow are given a contingency allowance for up to four and a half years. A contingency grant of INR 10,000 per annum in the first and second years, and INR 15,000 per annum during the third and fourth years of the programme.
This grant will be available for the purchase of books, stationery, computer hardware, or software etc. The PhD scholars can avail a one-time computer purchase amount of INR 50,000 before the end of their coursework.
Conference Support
IIM Lucknow provides a total combined travel grant or conference registration grant amount of INR 1,40,000 to INR 1,60,000 to attend one international conference after submitting the thesis proposal, and to attend a maximum of one domestic conference each in the third and fourth years. The PhD scholars are provided with an additional travel grant of INR 10,000 in the third or fourth year to attend a domestic Doctoral Consortium or the proposed annual inter-IIM Doctoral Consortium organized by IIMs, IISc, or IGIDR.
Miscellaneous Financial Support
Research scholars at IIM Lucknow are offered the reimbursement of the annual membership fee of only one national and one international professional society during the third and fourth years.
A reimbursement up to INR 50,000 is provided to research scholars for the travel, boarding, lodging, and local conveyance charges for case-writing and field-based research in the third or fourth year of their coursework.
The Institute also provides certain additional facilities for married DPM scholars whose families are residing on campus. This includes reimbursement of family health insurance premiums. The combined health insurance cover of INR 100,000 for the candidate, spouse, and two children of the scholar is being offered by the Institute. The premium payable for the INR 100,000 cover is reimbursed.
Accommodation Facilities
Research scholars at IIM Lucknow are provided with free hostel accommodation facilities and are exempted from the fees. Hostel facility at the ampus is available for the stay of married scholars with their immediate family, such as their spouse and children.

Indian Institute of Management Lucknow provides a need-based scholarship for students based on family income. Any student of IIM Lucknow, irrespective of caste, creed, gender, religion, whose total annual gross family income, including the income of self, parents, and spouse, is eligible for the scholarships. The eligible students can directly apply for this need-based scholarship to be equipped with financial support.
The eligibility criteria would be announced post the admissions. The duration of this Scholarship is for a period of one year, and no auto-renewal facility is applicable.
