Indian Institute of Information Technology Pune admission 2025 has already been invited for the academic year 2025-26. The application dates for admission to IIIT Pune vary as per the level of the courses and the program specialization. Students who are willing to study at IIIT Pune can select the programs related to engineering and technology at different levels of study. IIIT Pune offers admission at various levels covering UG, PG and PhD programs. The eligibility criteria for each level vary. For admission to the UG level courses (B.Tech), applicants are required to pass the JEE (Main). For the B.Tech program, a minimum score of 75% is required at the Class 12 level with PCM as mandatory subjects for the general and OBC category students. For the SC, ST and PwD category students, the institute accepts the minimum qualifying marks of 65% in Class 12 with PCM as major subjects.
Whereas for the PG courses (M.Tech), students with GATE and non-GATE scores can apply. However, students who applied as Non-GATE applicants need to pass the IIIT Pune entrance examination for M.Tech admission. The general eligibility criteria cover a minimum passing score of 55%-60% in a bachelor’s degree with relevant subjects from a recognised institute. For the PhD course, applicants are required to qualify for the relevant national-level entrance examination (NET) and GATE for admission at IIIT Pune. The applications are selected based on the interview conducted at the institute after clearing the entrance examination. A minimum qualifying score of 60% in a master’s degree with relevant subject areas from a reputed and recognised institute or university.

IIIT Pune undergraduate admission 2025 is done based on the entrance examination scores, followed by the counselling round conducted by the JoSAA and CSAB. IIIT Pune B.Tech admission 2025 is offered based on JEE(Main) qualifying rank, followed by the JoSAA and CSAB counselling. At the Bachelor of Technology degree, the institute offers two specialisations in CSE and ECE with majors in Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Internet of Things, Robotics and VLSI Design. The course offered at IIIT Pune B.Tech levels covers a 4-year course duration, offering advanced and industry-focused skills and academic knowledge.
The eligibility requirement for the IIIT Pune B.Tech course is a minimum passing score of 65% to 75%, depending on the student’s category in Class 12 with PCM as key subjects from a recognised board.
IIIT Pune postgraduate courses are offered in a Master of Technology degree with specialisation in CSE and ECE, along with majors and minors in respective departments, including AI and VLSI.
Interested candidates who are willing to take admission to the IIIT Pune M.Tech course can choose to apply either through the GATE entrance examination, accompanied by CCMT Counselling, or can apply directly to the institute through the IIIT Pune entrance examination, covering a written test and interview for the non-GATE applicants.
To get admission in the master’s degree course at IIIT Pune, applicants must score a qualifying mark of 60% or 6.5 CGPA (55% or 6.0 CGPA for SC, ST or PwD students) in an undergraduate degree with relevant subjects from a recognised university or institute.
Students who registered at CCMT 2025 counselling are required to pay the non-refundable registration fee of INR 3,500 for the General and OBC candidates, and for the SC, ST and PwD applicants, the registration fee is INR 3,000. Moreover, if the applicant wishes to participate in the special round for the seat allotment, a new registration is required along with the registration fee. The registration dates for the CCMT regular round of seat allocation are closed for the 2025-26 session, with the last date to be 4 June 2025. However, students can register for the CCMT special rounds for the seat allotment from 11 July 2025 to 15 July 2025. Furthermore, students without GATE qualifying scores can also apply under the Non-GATE admissions for the IIIT Pune M.Tech program by successfully passing the written test and the interview conducted by the institute.

The Visvesvaraya Scheme is only for the Electronics and IT program run under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The applications for the PhD course 2025 are now closed, with the last date to apply being 15 April 2025 for the Institute scheme and 30 April 2025 for the Visvesvaraya Scheme.
The minimum qualification required for admission to the IIIT Pune PhD course is a minimum of 60% marks for the general and OBC candidates and 55% marks for the SC, ST and PwD candidates at the Master’s level from a recognised university or institute.
