IIIT Kottayam Admission
Indian Institute of Information Technology Kottayam provides BTech, MTech (online and professional), and PhD in CE, CSE, ECE, AI, Social Sciences and Humanities, Maths, Physics, etc. Admission to all courses is based either on merit or entrance exams, which is conducted nationally. For the UG course, it is mandatory to appear in either the JoSAA or CSAB seat allocation process.

IIIT Kottayam Admission Eligibility Criteria 2025
IIIT Kottayam follows some admission rules to accept candidates for their UG, PG, and PhD courses.
Class 12 is the primary criterion for UG courses, while to get admitted in PG courses, a Bachelor’s degree is a must, and for PhD requires a Master’s degree is required. In addition to this, the other requirements are the national-level entrance exams.
UG Course: To become eligible for BTech, students must have completed Class 12 in PCM with a minimum of 75% for General, OBC, EWS categories, and 65% for SC, ST, and PwD, along with a valid JEE Main Score.
PG Course: The minimum requirements for eMTech is to have either a BE, BTech, AMIE in any relevant discipline, or an MCA, MSc, MS in Statistics, Physics, CS, IT, Mathematics with a minimum of 60%.
PhD Course: Master’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 60% or equivalent CGPA of 6.5. Candidate who holds a Bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply if they have secured 75% or 8 CGPA.
IIIT Kottayam Placement 2025
IIIT Kottayam has a strong placement drive, with top companies visiting the institute every year for the placements season. The top recruiters that visit the campus for recruitment include Nvidia, Bosch, Cognizant, HP, Jio, IBS, Human Resocia Co. Ltd., and Wipro. The institute also offers internship opportunities to students. The highest CTC (domestic) offered to the students in 2024–2025 was INR 50 LPA, while the average salary package stood at INR 11.91 LPA.
IIIT Kottayam Scholarships 2025
In collaboration with many Indian Banks and the government, IIIT Kottayam helps its students in providing financial assistance. The students can avail of several educational loans through NSP (National Scholarship Portal), State Bank of India Scholar Scheme, Indian Bank, etc. Teaching assistantship of INR 25,000 per month is offered to candidates who wish to pursue a PhD.
