IIIT Kottayam Admission Process
BTech, MTech-online and professional courses and PhD in disciplines including Engineering, Science, Mathematics, etc., are offered at the IIIT Kottayam. Admission is accepted through merit and a national-level entrance exam, counselling, a written test, and an interview. UG courses like BTech are concluded after a student participates in the counselling round or seat allocation process through JoSAA and CSAB. MTech and PhD courses are finalised after a written test and an interview round.
Admission for BTech is going on based on the shortlisting and admissions round. Due to different modes of admission, the application fees varies depending on the entrance exam fee and the application fee charged by the institute.
IIIT Kottayam Admission 2025
IIIT Kottayam is inviting applications for BTech and eMTech for the academic year 2025-2026. Admission is based on academic performance and national-level test scores. For BTech, a national-level exam, JEE Main, will be needed; after that, the candidate will be required to appear in either JoSAA or CSAB counselling to confirm their seats.
However, the cutoff for BTech is also announced; if eligible, candidates are required to confirm their seats in either of them. Admission for eMTech is also open; the application process started on 30 May 2025 and will last till 10 July 2025. Classes for eMTech is expected to commence on 01 August 2025.

IIIT Kottayam Eligibility Criteria
In order to admit applicants for their Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and PhD programs, IIIT Kottayam has certain admissions policies. The main requirement for UG courses is Class 12, whereas a Bachelor's degree is necessary for admission to PG courses, and a Master's degree is necessary for PhD programs. The entrance tests at the national level are an additional requirement.
UG Course: Class 12 PCM with a minimum score of 75%, and (65% for SC, ST, PwD), and JEE Main Score.
PG Course: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or MCA, MSc, or MS in Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, IT, or Mathematics with at least 60%.
PhD Course: A Master's degree in a related discipline with a CGPA of 6.5 or at least 60%. A bachelor's degree candidate with a CGPA of 75% or 8 is also qualified.
IIIT Kottayam UG Admission 2025
IIIT Kottayam offers BTech and BTech-MS courses at the Undergraduate level in a variety of Engineering and Technology fields, including CSE, AI, and Data Science, and ECE.
In order to enroll in a UG program, a candidate must pay the necessary fees, which include tuition, security fees, admission fees, hostel fees, and other charges.
The tuition fee for BTech is INR 1,45,200 per semester.
Eligibility criteria: Class 12th with a minimum of 60% and a valid JEE Main Score.
IIIT Kottayam BTech Admission 2025
BTech course, which is offered in a variety of streams like CSE, ECE, AI, and Data Science, etc. Merit and a national entrance exam are used to determine admission to BTech programs. Candidates are eligible for admission to BTech programs if they have secured at least 75% (65% for reserved categories) in Class 12 with PCM.
The first and second round cutoff lists for the different BTech disciplines have been made public. The second round of seat allocation has started and will continue till 29 June 2025. The application fee for JEE Main is INR 1000 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, while SC, ST, PwD, and female candidates are required to pay INR 800. Students will be admitted through either JoSAA Counselling or CSAB. Registration for CSAB counselling will start on 30 July 2025.
The cutoff for various BTech courses has been released on the JEE official website. Eligible candidates who qualify the cutoff list can get admission to IIIT Kottayam.
IIIT Kottayam PG Admission 2025
The Postgraduate course offered by IIIT Kottayam includes MTech through online mode and professional courses in a variety of subjects, such as CSE, ECE, ML and Data Science, Cyber Security, etc. PG admission is primarily based on merit. The basic requirement for eMTech is to have a BE/ BTech, MS/ MCA or equivalent 4-year Bachelor's degree with at least 60%. The total tuition fee for eMTech is INR 3,00,000, and the application fee for the PG course is INR 500 and INR 250 for reserved and women candidates.
IIIT Kottayam e-MTech Admission 2025
Indian Institute of Information Technology Kottayam offers eMTech in CSE, ECE, CS (Cyber Security), CS in AI and Data Science, to which admissions are open. The institute opened its application process on 20 May 2025, and the last date to apply is 10 July 2025.
The institute charges INR 500 (Other) and INR 250 (SC/ ST/ PwD and Female candidates) as an application fee.
A minimum requirement for eMTech is BE/BTech, MS/MCA, or an equivalent four-year Bachelor's degree with at least 60%.
The tuition fee for eMtech will be decided by the credits per semester. The total tuition fee for the eMTech course is INR 3,00,000.
IIIT Kottayam PhD Admission 2025
Indian Institute of Information Technology Kottayam offers CSE, ECE, and Computational Mathematics in PhD. To become eligible for admission to the PhD course, a Master's degree with at least 60% or a CGPA of 6.5 in a relevant field is required. A candidate for a bachelor's degree who has a CGPA of 8 or 75% is also eligible.
The tuition fee and the application fee for PhD is INR 22,000 per semester and INR 1000 (INR 500 for reserved and women categories), respectively is payable to the institute.
IIIT Kottayam Application Form 2025
Admission to IIIT Kottayam is based on merit and the national entrance exam. For a UG course, a candidate is required to appear for JEE Main, therefore, the application form will be filed through NTA’s JEE Main official website. For PG and PhD, the application form will be available at the institute's official website. The form filling includes registering, logging in, filling in the personal details and educational qualification, uploading necessary documents, paying the application fee, and finally submitting the form.
