The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Bhopal (IIIT Bhopal) is an Institute of national importance established by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. IIIT Bhopal offers admissions to various academic programmes across undergraduate and postgraduate levels. At the undergraduate level, the institute offers B.Tech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT), Physics & Computational Engineering, Mathematics & Computing and Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE).

IIIT Bhopal Admission Eligibility Criteria 2025
B.Tech: For admission to the B.Tech programme at IIIT Bhopal, candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and possess a valid JEE Main score. Admission is granted through JoSAA or CSAB counselling based on JEE Main rank.
M.Tech (Full-Time): Candidates applying for the full-time M.Tech programme must hold a B.Tech/BE/MCA/M.Sc. degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks for General/OBC categories and 55% for SC/ST/PwD candidates. Admission is based on a valid GATE score and conducted through the CCMT portal.
M.Tech (Professional/Part-Time): Eligibility remains the same as the full-time programme; however, candidates must also have a minimum of two years of relevant work experience. Admission is based on the candidate's academic background and performance in a personal interview. GATE qualification is not required for a professional/part-time M.Tech programme.
MCA: For MCA admission, candidates must have completed graduation in a relevant discipline, preferably with Mathematics at Class 12 or graduation level. Admission is through the NIMCET national-level entrance examination.
Ph.D.: Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. programme must have a Master’s degree (M.Tech/M.E./MCA/M.Sc./MA) in a relevant field with at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA for General/OBC and 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD categories. While a GATE/NET qualification is preferred, it is not mandatory. Sponsored candidates must be employed in a Government, Private, PSU, Academic, or Research organisation, and must submit a valid No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.

IIIT Bhopal has demonstrated impressive placement performance in recent years. In the 2022 placement season, the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) branch recorded an 86% placement rate with an average CTC of INR 13.54 LPA. The Information Technology (IT) branch achieved a 70.59% placement rate with an average CTC of INR 14.55 LPA, while the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) branch saw 61.11% placement with an average CTC of INR 9.01 LPA. IIIT Bhopal Scholarships 2025
