IIIT Bhopal Admission Process
IIIT Bhopal offers admission to its Undergraduate, Postgraduate and PHD programs in a wide range of specializations. The flagship courses of IIIT Bhopal are B.Tech, M.Tech (Full-time and Professional), and MCA. Admissions are largely entrance-based and include national-level tests such as JEE Main, GATE, NIMCET, or an institute-level test/interview. Admission processes are centralized via counselling processes such as JoSAA (for B.Tech), CCMT (for M.Tech Full-time), and NIMCET (for MCA), whereas M.Tech (Professional) admission is handled directly by the institute.
IIIT Bhopal Admission 2025
IIIT Bhopal provides admissions for the academic year 2025-26 in multiple courses such as B.Tech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT), and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). The B.Tech programme fee of the first year is about INR 2,83,374 inclusive of tuition and institute fee, with no exemption from the tuition fee of any category.
At the postgraduate level, the institute offers M.Tech (Full-time and Part-time) courses in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cyber Physical Systems. The M.Tech Full-Time complete fee is INR 5,63,346, and the M.Tech (Part-time) students will have to pay INR 5,63,388. The M.Tech (Professional) application fee is INR 1,500 for General/OBC and INR 1,000 for SC/ST/PwD.
The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is also offered by the institute under the Department of Information Technology. The total fee of the MCA program is INR 8,23,158, where there is no tuition fee concession to any category.
The IIIT Bhopal adheres to the academic and reservation policy as determined by the Government of India. IIIT Bhopal Eligibility Criteria 2025
For admission to the undergraduate B.Tech programme, candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized board and must have appeared and qualified in JEE Main 2025. Admission to B.Tech is conducted through JoSAA or CSAB counselling.
For the M.Tech (Full-Time) programme, candidates are required to have a B.E./B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc. degree in relevant fields such as CS, IT, ECE, Maths, Physics, or Electronics. General and OBC candidates are required to have a minimum of 60% marks, or 6.5 CGPA in graduation, and 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD candidates. A valid GATE score is mandatory, and admissions are carried out via the CCMT portal.
For M.Tech (Professional/Part-Time), candidates must have at least 55% marks or 5.5 CGPA for General/OBC and 50% marks or 5.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD. GATE is not required, but relevant work experience and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer are essential. Admissions are done through an institute-level application process followed by an interview.
For the MCA programme, candidates must have completed BCA, B.Sc. (CS/IT), B.E., B.Tech, or any equivalent degree with Mathematics as a subject at the Class 12 or graduation level. Admission to MCA is based on NIMCET scores and centralized counselling.
To apply for the Ph.D. programme at IIIT Bhopal, candidates must have a Master’s degree (M.Tech/M.E./MCA/M.Sc./MA) in a relevant field with at least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (55% or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD). GATE or NET qualification is preferred but not mandatory. Sponsored candidates must be working professionals from the Government, Private, PSU, Academic, or Research organisations and must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
IIIT Bhopal UG Admission 2025
For the academic year 2025-26, IIIT Bhopal offers B.Tech admissions through JEE Main, followed by JoSAA/CSAB counselling. Candidates are required to score a minimum of 75% (5% relaxation for the reserved category) marks in Class 12. The institute provides BTech in three main branches: Information Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, Physics and Computational Engineering, Mathematics and Computing and Electronics and Communication Engineering.
The first-year B.Tech fee for all categories is INR 2,83,374, which includes tuition fees, registration charges, development fees, maintenance, placement, examination fees, and one-time admission-related charges such as caution money and medical aid fund. From the second year onwards, the annual fee is INR 2,63,592. This amount covers all academic expenses but excludes hostel and mess charges, which are payable separately and may vary depending on the type of accommodation and availability. Students are also required to follow the institute’s fee payment guidelines, as no refund is applicable under any circumstances.
IIIT Bhopal PG Admission 2025
IIIT Bhopal offers M.Tech (Full-Time) programmes in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Cyber Physical Systems. Candidates need a B.E./B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc. in relevant fields with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD), and admission is granted through GATE scores via CCMT.
The total fee for the full-time M.Tech programme is INR 5,63,346, which includes tuition, institute fees, and one-time admission charges. In the first year, students are required to pay INR 2,87,574, followed by INR 2,75,772 in the second year.
For working professionals, the institute offers an M.Tech (Professional/Part-Time) programme in the same specialisations as the regular MTech program. Admission is based on academic performance and a personal interview; GATE is not required for the Part-time MTech program. Applicants must have a minimum of two years of work experience and submit an NOC from their employer.
The total fee for the part-time M.Tech programme is INR 5,63,388, payable over three years: INR 1,98,324 in the first year, INR 1,78,542 in the second, and INR 1,86,522 in the third year. Note that this programme does not include Training & Placement fees.
IIIT Bhopal PhD Admission 2025
Indian Institute of Information Technology Bhopal offers Ph.D. programmes in various specialisations under its engineering and science departments.
