Institute for Financial Management and Research Admission Overview
The Institute for Financial Management and Research offers academic programs such as the MBA program, Executive MBA, Integrated BBA+MBA, and Krea PhD-IFMR GSB. Admissions are open for the various programs at IFMR-GSB. The application starting date for the MBA program is 3 October 2025, and the application closing date is 15 November 2025. The Institute provides courses in the management stream, such as MBA, Executive MBA, Management Development Programmes, and more. Admissions to these courses are based on merit and entrance exams such as CAT, XAT, and NMAT.
Candidates applying for the MBA program need to have a minimum of 60% marks in class 10th, 12th, and Graduation. Additionally, candidates who are freshers as well as those with work experience are eligible for this course. On the other hand, the Executive MBA programme is for the executives of L&T Construction.
Candidates between the age group of 24 to 35 years with 3 years of work experience can apply for the executive course. They are selected through a written test and followed by an in-person interview. Whereas for the Integrated course, candidates should have obtained 60% marks in class 10th and 12th. Additionally, they need 60% in Mathematics in Class 10th from a recognised board.
Lastly, the IFMR Chennai also provides a PhD full-time and part-time program. For PhD full-time candidates, they need to have a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks, or professional qualifications such as ACA/FAC/AICWAI/ACSI. They also need a valid score in CAT, CMAT, GATE, GMAT, GRE, NET JRF, NMAT, and XAT. Whereas for the part-time PhD program, candidates must have passed 55% marks in the MBA, and they also require five years of work experience.

Candidates who want to get admission into the IFMR Chennai courses should fulfil the following eligibility criteria:
For the MBA program, candidates need to have a minimum of 60% marks in class 10th, 12th, and Graduation. Freshers and Experienced candidates can also apply for the program.
Candidates having a minimum of three years of experience can also apply for the executive MBA course.
For the Integrated course, candidates need to have 60% marks in class 10th and 12th, and they also need to have 60% marks in Maths in class 10th.
The Institute provides a PhD on a part-time and full-time basis. For the full-time course, candidates need to have 55% marks and a valid entrance exam score.
For admissions into the part-time PhD course, candidates need to have 55% marks in the MBA, along with five years of work experience.

The Executive MBA is for the executives of L&T construction, which is a three-year course, and candidates need to have a minimum of three years of work experience to be eligible for this course. Also, the age limit should be between 24 and 35 years.
Whereas the Integrated MBA is five years, and they must have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in class 10th and 12th. They also need to have 60% marks in Mathematics in class 10th. However, if they don’t have 60% marks in class 10th, they can qualify for the course based on a SAT score of 600 in Math.

The Institute also provides part-time and full-time PhD programs, and the doctoral coursework has two phases. In the first phase, which is the first two years, the students undergo selected graduate-level and doctoral-level courses that help lay the foundation of research.
The second phase begins from the third year, where PhD scholars start working on their research topic under the guidance of faculty members. Candidates who want to join the full-time PhD program should have 60% marks in an undergraduate degree, 55% marks in a Master's degree, professional qualifications such as ACA/FAC/AICWAI/ACSI, and valid entrance exam scores in one of the following entrance exams, like CAT, CMAT, GATE, GMAT, GRE, NET JRF, NMAT, or XAT.
For the part-time PhD program, students should have an MBA degree with a minimum of 55% marks and five years of working experience after they have completed their MBA.
