BMS College of Engineering Overview
B.M.S. College of Engineering (BMSCE) is one of the most well known colleges in India. It was founded in 1946 at Bengaluru Karnataka and has the special distinction of being the first private engineering college in India. The college has developed a high level of recognition over many years in terms of academic excellence and innovation. Over 40,000 graduates of BMSCE are currently working in various industries both in India and other parts of the globe. BMS College of Engineering Bangalore is approved by All India Council for Technical Education and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University Belagavi. The Government of Karnataka also supports the growth of the institution and helps it. The AICTE has a Quality Improvement Programme Centre in Engineering and Technology in the college and this enables it to support higher education and research in engineering.
BMSCE became an autonomous institution through the University Grants Commission in 2008. This independence gives the college the ability to design its own curriculum and academic policies while maintaining high academic standards. The institution follows Outcome Based Education which focuses on the development of practical knowledge, technical skills and professional abilities essential for the careers of students.

B.M.S. College of Engineering in Bengaluru offers many academic programs that help students build strong technical knowledge and practical skills needed for modern industries. The institute provides courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels in engineering, technology, management and computer applications. Admission to most courses at the college is mainly based on entrance examinations followed by counselling and seat allotment conducted by the respective authorities.
At the undergraduate level, the college offers the Bachelor of Engineering (BE) programme, which is one of the most popular courses and has a duration of four years. The BE programme is available in several specialisations such as Computer Science and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Computer Science and Business Systems, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Biotechnology and Industrial Engineering and Management.
