There are various eligibility criteria to study at AIIMS Jammu in each of its courses. The primary requirements of major undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes are listed below.
MBBS: Candidates must have passed their 10+2 with physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology, and English in order to be eligible for AIIMS's MBBS programme. They must pass the NEET-UG entrance exam and receive at least 50% of the possible points in the qualifying exam.
B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing: To be eligible for the B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing programme at AIIMS, candidates must have completed their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
MD/MS: To qualify for the MD/MS programme, candidates must have an MBBS degree with a minimum aggregate of 55% and pass the INI-CET. Admission to the PhD programme requires a postgraduate degree with at least 55% marks, followed by an institutional entrance exam and an interview.
The basic requirements for admission to the MBBS program include completing 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as core subjects. Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (40% for reserved categories) and qualify for the NEET entrance exam to be eligible for admission to recognized medical colleges.
MBBS is the flagship programme in AIIMS Jammu. To join the MBBS programme at AIIMS Jammu in 2025, the applicant has to be eligible to take the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2025, as AIIMS does not conduct an independent entrance test any more. The qualified applicants should enrol themselves in the centralised counselling model by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) after the publication of NEET results. The seat allocation depends on the NEET-UG score of the candidate, and cut-off ranks differ according to category. The candidates should have a minimum score in their 10+2 examination in biology, chemistry and physics to be eligible.
For AIIMS Jammu's MD and MS programmes in 2025, admission is based on the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI-CET). Applicants should possess an MBBS degree and also do a 12-month rotating internship before July 31, 2025. General/EWS/OBC candidates must have a minimum aggregate of 55% in MBBS, whereas ST candidates must have 50%. Final seat allocation is determined by INI-CET merit and the subsequent counselling process.
In the same way, the MDS programme also requires a valid INI-CET score to be admitted. Applicants should have the degree of BDS from a recognised university and have completed their one-year mandatory internship by July 31, 2025. AIIMS Jammu cutoff ranks in INI-CET, such as 12 for MDS Conservative Dentistry and 18 for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2025, are essential to secure admission. The INI-CET exam is conducted twice a year by AIIMS, New Delhi.
Super-speciality programme admission to DM and M.Ch. at AIIMS Jammu is also based on merit through the INI-SS entrance examination. The candidates should also have a relevant postgraduate degree (MD/MS) and complete the online application procedure via the portal of the aiimsexams.ac.in. Final selection would be according to the INI-SS merit and further counselling.
