TNTET 2025 Updates: Notification Out Now, Know How To Apply

The Notification for the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test 2025 has been released on the Teachers Recruitment Board official website at trb.tn.gov.in. The aspirants will be able to apply within the time window of August 11, 2025, to September 08, 2025. Paper 1 and Paper 2 have been scheduled tentatively for November 01 and 02, 2025.
The TNTET has been established for the purpose of determining a candidate’s suitability to teach Classes 1 to 8 in Tamil Nadu Schools. Candidates wishing to teach Classes 1 to 5 will attempt Paper 1, and candidates wishing to teach Classes 6 to 8 will attempt Paper 2.
The notification states that Paper 1 is tentatively scheduled for the 1st November 2025, and Paper 2 is to take place on the 2nd November 2025. The candidates will be able to edit their application forms within the correction window from September 9 to 11, 2025. Candidates who wish to appear for both papers will submit an application and the necessary fees separately.

TNTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria
The candidates should meet the following eligibility criteria for appearing in the TNTET Exam 2025:
Age:
The candidate should have a minimum age of 18 years as of July 1, 2025.
The TENET exam does not typically have an upper age limit. Though there may be a state-specific limit, which must be verified with the official notification of the particular TENET exam.
For Classes 1-5 (Paper I):
Candidates may have TENET eligibility if they have passed or are appearing for the final year of a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), or Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
Alternatively, a 10+2 (or equivalent) with 45% marks with the above teacher training qualification can also make a TENET eligible candidate.
For Classes 6-8 (Paper II):
A Bachelor's degree and B.Ed. degree or D.El.Ed. degree is required in most instances.
Some states will allow candidates with a Bachelor's Degree and a D.El.Ed. degree that have been awarded.
Other candidates can also have 10+2 with at least 50% appearing/passing B.El.Ed. and be eligible.
General Requirements:
Usually requires at least 45% marks in the qualifying exam.
The cut-off percentages may vary by the TENET state and exam.

Finalise the registration process.
Step 3: Complete the application form.
Step 4: Upload a scanned photo of yourself at passport size, along with your signature, in the specified format.

Step 6: Save the confirmation page after submitting the form.
