The city of Bhagalpur stands as a famous urban center within Bihar which gained its reputation through cultural and historical significance while becoming a center for advanced educational programs. The city will host two popular engineering colleges which will attract students from across India during 2026. The educational institutions which serve this area include Bhagalpur College of Engineering (BCE) together with Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Bhagalpur. These two educational institutions receive funding from different sources because one operates as a government institution while the other functions through a Public Private Partnership structure. Students who want to attend these colleges need to pass entrance exams which include JEE Main and JEE Advanced and GATE at national and state examination levels. The system achieves its goal by protecting outstanding and intelligent students from missing their chance to join the elite educational establishment.
These colleges provide valuable engineering courses like Computer Science, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics Engineering. These are the basic and advanced areas of specialization that assist students in getting ready to work in the area of technology, development, and research. An affordable fee structure is one of the strengths of these colleges. In the case of B.Tech courses, the average fee is between INR 1.03 lakh per year, which is very low in comparison with most of the private Indian universities.
For M.Tech courses, the cost is even cheaper, ranging between INR 1 lakh and INR 1.36 lakh annually. This has made engineering education affordable to a large number of students in middle-income families. Both colleges are good at placements. The average salary packages are between INR 1.22 lakh per year, with a highlight about the industry collaborations, which indicates that students receive good career opportunities as well as quality education. This combination of affordable fees and good salary packages makes these colleges a good option among engineering candidates.
