The PUCAT 2025, also known as the Purvanchal University Combined Admission Test, is a significant university-level entrance examination conducted by Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University(VBSPU) in Uttar Pradesh. This exam is designed for admission to various postgraduate(PG) courses offered by the university and is a crucial step in your academic journey. It is conducted once a year in pen-and-paper-based offline mode. 

The application form for PUCAT 2025 was available on the official website of PUCAT from 2 May 2025. The last date of application was 25 June 2025. Candidates had to fill out the application form before this deadline to complete the process seamlessly. 

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree, that is 10+2+3, with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks for general and 45% marks for the reserved category(ST/SC/OBC) from a recognized institute in the relevant field. Note that these eligibility criteria vary based on the different programs.

Purvanchal University Combined Admission Test (PUCAT) is a university-level entrance exam conducted to gain admission to VBSPU and its affiliated colleges for PG courses and different MA, MSc, and MBA programs. The exam was conducted offline, that is, written (pen and paper) in the English language, and will include MCQs that examinees must attempt in 2 hours. 

In 2025, VBSPU invited applications from 2 May 2025, and the last date to fill the application was 25 June 2025. To fill out the application form, students had to visit the official website of VBSPU with the required details, upload documents, and pay an amount as an application fee to complete the process successfully. For PUCAT, the application form is INR 500 for General and INR 250 for ST/SC categories. 

To be eligible for PUCAT, Candidates must have qualified 10+2+3 with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks for general and 45% marks for the reserved category(ST/SC/OBC) from a recognized institute in the relevant field.

To be eligible to take admission at Veer Bahadur Singh University and its affiliated colleges, a candidate should pass the PUCAT. This test has certain eligibility criteria that need to be fulfilled to be eligible to appear for the exam. 

The General eligibility criteria are to have a bachelor's degree with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks for general and 45% marks for the reserved category(ST/SC/OBC) from a recognized institute in the relevant field.

A graduation degree in BCA with a minimum of 45% marks for General and 40% marks for the Reserved category.

MA

A simple graduation degree or equivalent with at least 45% marks for General and 40% marks for ST/SC.

The exam body, Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University (VBSPU), will prescribe and release the PUCAT syllabus 2025 on its official website. 

The syllabus will contain detailed information on topics, subjects, and sub-subjects. As per the PUCAT Syllabus, the subjects that will be covered are Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, General Awareness, and Reasoning Ability.

Cell Biology (Cell Structure, Function, Organelles), Genetics (Mendelian Genetics, Molecular Genetics), Evolution (Darwin's Theory, Speciation), Ecology (Ecosystems, Biodiversity, Conservation), Human Physiology (Digestive System, Respiratory System, Circulatory System), Plant Physiology (Photosynthesis, Plant Growth).

General Awareness

Current Affairs (National and International Events), History (Indian Freedom Struggle, World History), Geography (Physical Geography, Indian Geography), Indian Polity (Constitution, Governance), Economy (Economic Policies, Budget), Science and Technology (Recent Developments, Innovations).

Reasoning Ability

Logical Reasoning (Syllogisms, Blood Relations, Coding-Decoding), Analytical Reasoning (Puzzles, Seating Arrangements), Data Interpretation (Graphs, Charts, Tables), Verbal Reasoning (Analogies, Classification).

The Admit card was released 15-20 days prior to the exam date, that is on 13 July 2025. It is an essential document to carry, and without it, a candidate will not be able to enter the exam hall. Students who have filled out the application form can access the Admit Card from the official website.

Candidates are advised to carry a passport-size photograph and any government ID(Aadhar card/PAN card) along with the admit card at the time of examination.

PUCAT 2025: Answer Key

The PUCAT 2025 Answer Key was expectedly released in July 2025 before the announcement of the results. Candidates can access it on the official VBSPU website and can download it in PDF format to review their answers, estimate their scores, and submit objections within the specified period. The answer key will be released in two divisions: Provisional and Final Answer Key.

PUCAT 2025: Exam Results

The PUCAT result 2025 were available on the official website at  https://www.vbspu.ac.in/  on 21 July 2025, tentatively. Candidates can download the PUCAT Exam result in PDF format by filling in the required credentials. The result will include information such as the candidate's name, marks obtained, score, and rank. Candidates who qualify will proceed for counselling and seat allocation.

The PUCAT 2025 Exam Cutoffs are the minimum qualifying marks set by the VBSPU. The cut-offs are generally announced along with the results. The cut-offs for the VBSPU are based on factors like exam difficulty, vacancies, number of applicants, and more. The Cutoffs were released on the same date of the result announcement which took place on 31 july 2025*.
