The GNM, also known as General Nursing and Midwifery, is a diploma-level course for students who want to become nurses. The GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) entrance exam dates vary by state. For example, the Uttar Pradesh GNM entrance exam (UPGET) is scheduled for June 11, 2025. The West Bengal GNM exam is expected to be held in August 2025. In Jharkhand, the GNM entrance exam is scheduled for 27 July 2025*, and it will be held in offline mode (pen and paper).

The last date to apply for the GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) program varies depending on the specific state and institution. For example, the last date to apply for the Uttar Pradesh GNM Entrance Test (UPGET) 2025 was May 22, 2025, although this date was later extended. For the Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS) GNM Entrance Examination (GNMEE), the last date to apply was June 13, 2025. In Odisha, the online application for GNM admission closes on June 19, 2025. 

To find the exact deadline for a specific program, it's best to check the official website of the conducting body for that particular state or institution. 

To apply for the GNM course, students must meet certain eligibility criteria, such as having passed Class 12 (10+2) from a recognised board. It is better if the student has studied Science subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, but students from the Arts with English and Health Care Science are also eligible. The student must have scored at least 40% marks in total and should be at least 17 years old in the admission year. The upper age limit is usually 35 years. The student must also be medically fit to take part in the course.

The admission fee for the GNM course depends on the college and state. On average, it ranges from INR 40,000 to INR 1,00,000 per year, but in some private colleges, it can go up to INR 2.5 lakhs for the full course.

To be eligible for the GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) program, candidates typically need to have passed their 10+2 (or equivalent) examination with English and a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate, as well as individually in English. While a science background (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) is often preferred, candidates from arts and vocational streams, including ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery) and Healthcare Science, may also be considered.

3. Open School Candidates: Candidates from State Open Schools recognized by the State Government and the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) are also eligible.

4. ANM and Vocational Stream: Candidates with a 10+2 in a vocational ANM course or Health care Science from a recognized board with at least 40% marks in aggregate are also eligible. 

5. Age: Typically, candidates must be between 17 and 35 years old. 

6. Other Eligibility: Some institutions may have specific requirements, such as being medically fit, and some may conduct entrance exams.

The GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) application form for the 2025 session is available online in many states. For example, in Jharkhand, the application started on  18 June 2025  and will close on 10 July 2025. In other states like Assam and Himachal Pradesh, the forms are also open during June and July. Students must visit the official website of their state’s nursing board to fill out the form. The application process is simple and done online. Students need to register, fill in their details, upload documents, and pay the fee. The form fee is usually around INR 2000 to INR 3000* for reserved categories and INR 1500* or more for general candidates. Payment can be made using a debit card, credit card, or net banking. After submitting the form, students should save a copy for future use. It’s important to apply before the last date to avoid missing the chance.

GNM Exam 2025 Admit Card

The GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) admit card is a very important document for students who are going to take the entrance exam. For most states, the admit card is released about one week before the exam. For example, in Uttar Pradesh, the GNM admit card for the UPGET 2025 exam was released on 5 June 2025, and the exam was held on  11 June 2025. Students can download the admit card from the official website by entering their application number and date of birth. It is important to take a printout of the admit card and carry it to the exam centre along with a valid photo ID.

The GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) answer key is released a few days after the entrance exam. For example, in West Bengal, the GNM exam is scheduled for 29 June 2025, and the official answer key is expected to be released in August 2025. Students can download the answer key from the official website of the exam board. It helps students check their answers and estimate their scores before the final result is declared. Some coaching centres also release unofficial answer keys just after the exam.

If any student finds a mistake in the answer key, they can raise an objection. To do this, they need to pay a small fee. In most cases, the objection fee is INR 500* per question, and this amount is non-refundable. Students must submit proof along with their objection. After reviewing all objections, the final answer key is released. This final key is used to prepare the result.

GNM Exam 2025 Result 

The GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) exam result is usually announced a few weeks after the entrance exam. For example, in Uttar Pradesh, the GNM entrance exam was held on  11 June 2025*, and the result was declared on  18 June 2025. Students can check their results by visiting the official website and logging in with their registration number or date of birth. The result shows the marks, rank, and whether the student is selected for counselling. It is important to download and save the result for future use during the admission process.
