How often can I take the Duolingo English Test?

There is no limit to how many times you can take the test. However, within 30 days, you can attempt it up to three times. Each attempt requires a new registration and payment.

No. Headphones, books, notes, or writing assistants are strictly prohibited. The test is AI-proctored, and any suspicious behaviour leads to cancellation of your score.

What are the new changes in DET 2025?

Starting July 2025, DET includes Interactive Speaking and Interactive Listening sections. Tasks like “Read Aloud” and “Listen Then Speak” have been removed to keep the test under 1 hour.
