

Western India Institute of Aeronautics was established in 2004 by Dr Nagesh Bhandari. The institute is approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DCGA), Government of India, in Hansol, Ahmedabad, near Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.
It offers programmes, such as Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, BSc (Honours) in Aircraft Maintenance, and B.Tech (Aeronautical/Aerospace) in collaboration with Indus University. Along with this, the institute also offers vocational courses in Aviation, Hospitality, & Travel Management.

For example, the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering B1.1 course deals with studying and maintaining jet engines and aeroplane structures. Students applying for the courses provided by the Western India Institute of Aeronautics WIIA Ahmedabad should fulfil the eligibility criteria mentioned below:
Candidates applying for the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering B1.1 course should be less than 16 years old at the time of admission. They should have passed class 12th in PCM or have a 3-year diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Aeronautical. Additionally, students should be medically fit, and they should not have any physical disabilities.
For Aircraft Maintenance Engineering B1.3 (Helicopter Turbine), the eligibility criteria are the same as Aircraft Maintenance Engineering B1.1. However, if the students have a prior certification in aircraft maintenance, B1.1 or B2 is a plus.
Candidates opting for the B.Sc (Hons) in Aircraft Maintenance should be 16 years old. Along with this, students should have passed class 12th in PCM or have a degree in electrical, electronics, mechanical, or aeronautical engineering.
Candidates applying for the B.Tech in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering should be a minimum of 16 years old. They should have passed class 12th in the PCM or have a diploma degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Aeronautical engineering.
Students who want to study B.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering should be 16 years old. They should have passed class 12th in PCM with a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates who have a mechanical or science diploma can also apply for this course. Along with this, they should have appeared in entrance exams, such as JEE Mains.
Those applying for the B.Tech in Defence Aerospace+B1.3 (Helicopter Turbine) should be 18 years old and have passed class 12th in the PCM stream. Along with this, they need to appear in the engineering entrance examination, such as JEE Main or a test organised by the Institute. Candidates should be medically fit and have no physical disability.
Candidates who want to join vocational courses, such as Cabin Crew, should be 17 years old, and they should have passed the 12th class examination from a recognised board or university, or have a diploma or degree in any stream.
For the Aviation, Hospitality & Travel Management course, candidates should be 16 years old. Along with this, they should have passed class 12th from a recognised board or university or have a diploma or degree in any stream.
