The University of Technology was established by the Government of Rajasthan through the State Legislature under Act No. 28 of 2017. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. The university is sponsored by Deepshikha Kala Sansthan, Jaipur.
It offers a wide range of UG, PG, Diploma, and Doctoral-level programs. The offered courses are BA, B.Sc, B.Lib, MA, M.Sc, etc. These courses are offered in different streams, like Engineering & Technology, Law, Pharmacy, Commerce, and many more. Admission to these courses is based either on merit or entrance exam scores.
Spread across 30 acres of land, the university provides various facilities for its students, such as libraries, laboratories, an auditorium, IT infrastructure, and a sports centre. For UG admission, students must have completed their Class 12 with a minimum of 45% marks.
