

Tilak Maharashtra Visyapeeth was established in 1921, and later in 1987 it became a Deemed university in the educational memory of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, who was the father of Indian Unrest and advocate of National Education. The main aim of the establishment of Tilak Maharashtra Visyapeeth was to impart national education convinced by Lokmanya Tilak, through his four - fold formula, in which the other three were Swadeshi, Swaraj, and Boycott. The university has been approved under the University Grant Commission and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a B++ grade.
